The port blocking suggesting makes sense, because some folks report losing access to secure sites (https) and others report losing connection to regular websites (http). I personally can connect to the secure sites, such as my credit union account (https), but lose the http connection after about a minute or two. The only thing that restores the connection is a complete restart, and then it only lasts a couple minutes. Since internet connections are routed through two different ports, depending on whether it's a secure or unsecure site, the port blocking concept has a lot of merit. I don't know how to access these controls or modify them, but I am posting this here because a) someone may know how to resolve the timing/port blocking issue, and b) these are the newest questions regarding this problem. I have found similar questions dating back to 2004, using all versions of the OS, all browsers, all computers and all kinds of

MarkZ Member 11-10-2012 Hi there, im asking for help in forums as from yesterday im having some issues regarding the internet stabilty, whenever i start my client and login, i get timed out the "Connection timeout: The request to PVP.net server has timed out" error, now the thing is that during the game everything is ok, no lags, no spikes, no freezes - everything smooth as baby bottom. However the problem is that i cannot really join the game as my client freeze during champion select and it becomes unresponsive (when i try to close it it doesnt respond how to fix so i have to kill the process). I can watch the "featured games", i can play but only when i can get to choose my champion in about 20-30 seconds, after that i get DC'd from the PVP.net server and i cant do anything about it. This issue is a real pain now, everything started yesterday morning (about 10 am). I have submitted a ticket already hoping to get some answers. A few informations i think might be useful OS - Win XP SP3 ISP - Virgin Media - UK Speed - 20MB The repair option didnt help, the reinstall didnt help, my firewall is turned off so thats not the case aswell. Any ideas or fixes are more than welcomed. It MIGHT be the cognetco issue again, however it doesnt lag DURING the game - at all, not even once, it just keeps DCing me and then its unresponsive. Also when i dont get the "connection timeout" error, yet i manage to go to champ select im getting the same error as person from this topic http://euw.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=915679 (i hope its ok to use the picture he uploaded - the error message is the same) h
