I dont think that this will help, but might be worth a read. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833710/Assuming that the above only applies to SQL Server 2000, then can you post the SQL that you are using to do the restore. If using the SQL Server Management Studio GUI,try doing an old fashon restore by using SQL. Finally try looking at the SQL Server Log and see if there is any additional information in there. Hope that these things help. Is this the EXACT command you used? Can you cut and paste from a script? If it wasn't a script, have you tried re-typing and re-running the command? Friday, June 29, 2007 12:30 PM Reply | Quote Moderator 0 Sign in to vote All the messages I have read on all the forums seem to suggest that this error only occurs in SQL Server 2000. My experience is different. I just got this message: Too many backup devices specified for backup or restore; only 64 are allowed. after my client did a SQL Server 2005 Backup, then zipped the file, copied it to a CD and mailed it to me. I copied it to my hard disk and unzipped it and tried using the SQL Server 2005 Restore comma
this. Reason was my SQL DB Backup is taken from the latest version of the MS SQL Server and I'm trying to restore it to the previous MS SQL Server version. As a solution of that I run the latest service pack for my MS SQL Server which used to restore my Data Base. You can also found this service packs by using the below link. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968382 Posted by Chathura Dulhara at 1:28 AM Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest Labels: SQL 4 comments: Andrew SonSeptember 22, 2015 at 11:14 AMThere are lots of information about latest technology and how to get trained in them, like Oracle Training in Chennai have spread around the web, but this is a unique one according to me.
