only takes a few minutes. Join Now Years ago I had an Access (2007) database created and I kept a template I could use as a basis for creating more. I did a little testing today in the Access 2007 version and

it seems to work fine. I then realized I needed to upgrade the file to runtime error 13 type mismatch excel 2007 Access 2013 so I could attach tables etc. Seems there are now going to be some compatibility issues with some of the Access 2007 type mismatch access code that's not compatible with Access 2013. Hoping maybe someone knows a lot more about the differences in coding between 2007 and 2013 and can help me sort this out. I'm getting the following error and the debug https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/181542 takes me to the Set command below. Run-time error '13':Type mismatch Set rstLogin = CurrentDb().OpenRecordset("Select * from tbl_Login where IsValid = true And UserName = '" & txtUserName & "'", dbOpenDynaset, dbSeeChanges) The complete code is as follows: Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer) '------------------------------------------------------------' Set the Date and Version'------------------------------------------------------------Me.Filter = "[ItemNumber] = 0 AND [Argument] = 'Default'"Me.FilterOn = TrueDim sSQL As StringDim rst As RecordsetsSQL = "SELECT TOP 1 * FROM tbl_CurrentVersion ORDER BY Major DESC, Minor DESC, https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/486913-ms-access-run-time-error-13-type-mismatch Revision DESC"Set rst = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset(sSQL)If rst.EOF And rst.BOF ThenElseMe.lblCurrentVersion.Caption = "Ver. " & rst("Major") & "." & rst("Minor") & rst("Revision")Me.lblVersionDate.Caption = "Date: " & rst("RevisionDate")End If Can someone point me in the right direction to resolve this? When it comes to code, I'm pretty much lost, but would like to get this database working again as it has some nice features. Check the IsValid field especially because I am guessing it is not a yes/no field anymore. Just in case you don't know this, open tbl_Login in design view and each field should have a drop down list for data type. IsValid needs to be yes/no. 0 Sonora OP Kelvin8694 May 2, 2014 at 5:50 UTC Thanks for the reply! I've confirmed that yes the IsValid field is data type Yes/No. It was actually already that, so the conversion didn't mess that up. I actually reselected the type from the list just to make sure Access was sure about what was selected. Is
does commonly appear when using macros in Excel as well as when running programs based on Microsoft Visual Basic. Let’s take a look at these two examples of common instances of runtime error 13 and http://www.runtimeerrorsfix.com/how-to-fix-runtime-error-13.html then explore how to fix runtime error 13. Runtime Error 13 – Type Mismatch When http://stackoverflow.com/questions/29542733/ms-access-vba-getting-error-13-type-mismatch-when-calling-a-function-from-a your computer tells you that a runtime error 13 type mismatch error has occurred in Microsoft Excel 2002, it is telling you about a known bug within Excel that has since been patched. If your computer has not been patched with Office XP Service Pack 3, you will receive this particular runtime 13 error when clicking a type mismatch macro or a menu function based on a macro. Runtime Error 13 and Visual Basic Runtime error 13 (type mismatch) errors are not limited strictly to the Excel 2002 macro example above. They can occur within programs created with Visual Basic. When the underlying code contains values in the variable or property fields that do not match, the runtime error 13 message appears. These errors are usually related to the programming, not necessarily time error 13 a problem with your computer’s configuration. Steps to fix Runtime Error 13 Since most of us are not programmers, you might think that there’s not much you can do about runtime error 13. However, this assumption is wrong. While the program may generate a runtime error 13 error when it can’t find a required file or variable, the reason could be because of a software bug or it could be because of a bad installation or file corruption. In addition, developers are constantly fixing software bugs, so a fix may be available. In the Excel 2002 example above, a fix is indeed available: the Office XP Service Pack 3. Use this as inspiration and check for updates on any software that is generating runtime error 13 errors. If the developer has discovered the problem and repaired it, the fix will be included in a hot fix, update, or service pack. Once installed, your problem should disappear. If the software has a repair tool, use it to repair the program. For example, Microsoft Office comes with a repair tool called Detect and Repair. This tool was later renamed the Microsoft Office Diagnostics Tool in Office 2007. Repair tools typically scan the program in search of lost or damaged program files and then replace those with f
