(i really want to play on that pc, as it's on my room) here are my specs (AFAIK it should be able to run pSX) Pentium 3, 933 Mhz ~350MB RAM 3dfx Voodoo Banshee windows XP pro sp2 when i start http://psxemulator.proboards.com/thread/2708/unhandled-exception the emulator a DOS window comes up, and another small window where i have to select the language. after i select a language (dutch or english) the program crashes with this error. "b0rkenunhandled exception, save a crash dump?" i have a crash dump. (i'll upload it if you want) now i also tried 'epsxe' and that DID run, it just can't play FF (only games i have left... ) i think http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=18401 the drivers for my videocard are outdated. i googled for ages, and tried different drivers, but to be honest, i have NO IDEA which drivers are good. i was hoping you guys would know a couple of good (/latest) drivers for the '3dfx voodoo banshee' for winXP. i have checked guru3d etc. but they have so much drivers and it's a little overwhelming. i'd really appreciate your help if you need more info, just ask and i'll try to provide it thanks in advance bounty vb Newbie Posts: 2Joined: 2008-4-20 @ 11:46Location: Netherlands Top Reply with quote Re: problems with pSX (unhandled exception) by ADDiCT » 2008-4-20 @ 22:15 You won't have much fun with PSX emulation with your ancient computer. I've been using pSX for a while now, and never had any crash problems. Your problem is your outdated GFX card (and if pSX would run, probably the slow processor). Now because I'm a complete idiot I didn't ask him how to get it to work and now I can't figure it out. First off the readme says "Extract all files from the .rar (or .tar.bz2 file under Linux) including folders." but the folder I copied wasn't a rar folder it was just a normal folder, I'm not sure if it needed to be extracted on my computer or if it was only in a .rar to make downloading simpler. Next it says "The emulator requires a PS1 BIOS file which should be placed in the bios directory. By default the emulator will look for scph1001.bin - this version is highly recommend because it is the only well tested one although other bioses should work." It seems that I've already got a scph1001.bin file in the bios directory so that shouldn't be a problem. Finally it says "Once the emulator is running you can change the BIOS from the configuration menu. In the event that you only have a different bios file you can edit psx.ini to get the emulator running (run psx.exe once, you will get an error message, now look for psx.ini)." Since I have the bios they recomend this bit shouldn't be a problem unless if I'm severely misunderstanding 29th-August-200718:11 #2 Inferno. View Profile View Forum Posts View Blog
