Exchange 2013 Reset Virtual Directories Powershell
Posts: 12 Joined: 4.Jan.2012 Status: offline Hi guys, first of all thanks for taking the time to help me out with this. I'll resume my last two days. Yesterday night, i decided to upgrade my Exchange https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/28344867/Cannot-recreate-OWA-virtual-directory.html 2007 SP1 setup to SP3 which i downloaded and was ready to go. I started the installation and a couple of things were to be fix like starting the Remote Registry service, etc. that the Checkup Prerequisits told me. I did so. Everything went ok until Copying Exchange files. It ended up crashing with a freaking fatal error 1603. Now the SP3 wasn't install but the whole installation seemed to crashed. Can't receive/send any email, http://forums.msexchange.org/Struggling_after_SP3_upgrade_fail/m_1800565142/tm.htm hub service was down.. impossible to start (got a poison stuff in the log viewer) All my virtual directories were messed up etc etc etc. I was pretty dissapointed and discouraged to be honest. This morning, i found that a registry key needed to be changed at the permissions to be able to start well the hub service. Wow, emails were back on track. But my virtual directories in IIS were still messed up. I managed, with a partner of mine, to modify the content of the web.config files which were pointing to %ExchangeInstallDir% instead of D:\Program Files\Exchange Server.. so we replaced that and Autodiscover and EWS were back running. So ActiveSync was too. But the OWA directory seemed to be corrupted. So i managed to do the remove-owavirtualdirectory pscommand. I can't delete the owa directory completely from the Default Web Site. Even if i manually delete it, it comes back. Actually, here is my get-owavirtualdir command: [PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-OwaVirtualDirectory Name Server OwaVersion ---- ------ ---------- Exchange (Default Web S... RICROU-MX01 Exchange2003or2000 Public (Default Web Site) RICROU-MX01 Exchange2003or2000 Exchweb (Default Web Site) RICROU-MX01 Exchange2003or2000 Exadmin (Default Web Site) RICROU-MX01 Exchange2003or2000 My EMC is empty when i open up the Outlook Web Access tab under Client Access. If i try to create the owa virtual folder again, with new-owavirtualdirectory command, it says it's already exist

Join Now After a clean install of Exchange 2013 SP1, I kept getting a blank page after logging into the ECP. After doing some research on the web, I found that it could be SSL Cert issues or corrupt virtual directories. an error occurred I verified the correct SSL cert and moved on to the virtual directories. I ran these commands. Remove-EcpVirtualDirectory -Identity Servername\ecp (Default Web Site) New-EcpVirtualDirectory -InternalUrl https://ServerFQDN/ecp -WebSiteName Default Web Site Remove-OwaVirtualDirectory -Identity Servername\owa (Default Web Site) New-OwaVirtualDirectory -InternalUrl https://ServerFQDN/owa -WebSiteName Default Web Site I was able to recreate the ECP virtual directory just fine. But after running the command to recreate the OWA virtual directory, this is the error I get. I have verified there is nothing left behind in ADSI Edit. An error occurred while creating the IIS virtual directory 'IIS://dfw-mail13/W3SVC/1/ROOT/owa' on 'DFW-MAIL13'. + CategoryInfo : InvalidOperation: (DFW-MAIL13\owa (Default Web Site):ADObjectId) [New-OwaVirtualDirector y], InvalidOperationException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : [Server=DFW-MAIL13,RequestId=c7ad3561-6c50-456f-b808-b962b1be1fac,TimeStamp=5/23/2014 6: 48:17 PM] [FailureCategory=Cmdlet-InvalidOperationException] D2CA6305,Microsoft.Exchange.Management.SystemConfigur ationTasks.NewOwaVirtualDirectory + PSComputerName : dfw-mail13.
