I change the visual basic access database tutorial Microsoft DAO 3.51 to Microsoft DAO 3.6 or I'll get a "unregconize data format!" error. The Access and VB is successfully link.
Visual Basic 6 Access Database
I tried to addnew record, delete and so on, no problems found. However, when I tried to search for a data using SQL statement, like this: Merit.RecordSource = "select * from Rekod Merit Pelajar where Nombor Sekolah
Visual Basic 2008 Access Database
like'*" & SNoSek.Text & "*'" Merit.Refresh I get a "runtime error '525'----Data Access Error"!!! The error occur at the line "Merit.Refresh". So, I download some example and tried them out. I find that the main different is that they are using VB6 with Access 97 and Microsoft DAO 3.51 but not Access 2000 with Microsoft DAO 3.6 . I found that if I change the Reference "Microsoft DAO 3.51" to "Microsoft DAO 3.6", the visual basic 2005 access database same error will occur in their example. So, any idea? I really need the solution as soon as possible. Please help me if you can or show me some example on search function in db using VB6 and Access 2000. Thank you very much. zfrancis #2 03-27-2001, 08:36 AM kingesk Guest Posts: n/a Re: "Data Access Error" problem!! SOS!!! I'm not sure if this is the problem but I think if your table name and field names have spaces it should be enclosed with [] like this: Merit.RecordSource = "select * from [Rekod Merit Pelajar] where [Nombor Sekolah] like'*" & SNoSek.Text & "*'" Merit.Refresh Hope this helps, Eric kingesk #3 03-28-2001, 03:49 AM zfrancis Guest Posts: n/a Re: "Data Access Error" problem!! SOS!!! Eric, I'm sorry, I still get the same error there. Thanks for your respone anyway. I think I need to show some part of the coding: Code I use to link VB6 and Access 2000 with DAO 3.6: Private Sub Form_Load() Dim db As Database Dim filename As String filename = App.Path If Right$(filename, 1) <> "\" Then filename = filename & "\" filename = filename & "sistem demerit.mdb" Set db = DBEngine.OpenDatabase(filename) Set Merit.Recordset = db.OpenRecordset("Rekod Merit Pelajar") Set Demerit.Recordset = db.OpenRecordset("Rekod Demerit Pelajar") End Sub Then, i place

It will take care of registering all the ocx and dll's used in your project. so you http://www.programmingforums.org/post174374.html probably have to deploy the files needed. Also note if you are trying to access this database from multiple places at once you may run into a lot of problems as only once person can access an access db at a time, and it locks it up. One huge restriction __________________ Dallas Web Design | Texas Web Design | www.ChillAxen.com | Renee C. a VB6 application that uses an access 97 database, I get a "Data Access Error" and two of three fields do not refresh from http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/data-access-error-in-vb6-access-97.1634541/ the database. So I know that the program has the databse, but I cannot find the cause of the error. Any advice is appreciated. So I know that > the program has the databse, but I cannot find the cause > of the error. Any advice is appreciated. My advice would be to provide a bit more information! What statement does the error occur on? What is the exact text of the error message? What do you mean that 2 of visual basic access 3 fields "do not refresh from the database"? TC TC, Oct 29, 2003 #2 Advertisements BGardner Guest Ok, here's more detail. I don't have an exact statement that the error appears on, but my best guess is during the data access to the database on the form load. This is the suspect code right now: Set qdfTemp = .CreateQueryDef("", "SELECT * FROM MotorVariables where MotorId = '" + Motor.Text + "'") The machine is running VB executable, but does not have VB loaded so I can't step through the code on the machine to confirm this. The exact error message is "Data Access Error". I receive it twice, once for each dropdown that fails to load, then the mainmenu form loads normally. If I click on the refresh data button which refreshes the data to one of the dropdowns that is giving the problem, I found that it gives me a runtime error 525 with the same Data Access Error message during loading. (just found this today) Two of three fields don't update from the database information means exactly that. There are 3 fields that pull data from

For testing purposes of new added functionality we have released a new version, then we set permissions to the users that will be testing the new functionality. In short we have prepare the scenario for the application test to success. When trying to run the application in some user's PC using some development user account we succeed, but when we try to access to the same executable with the user account we receive a runtime Error 75 - Path/File Access Error. Some ideas about the origin of such error? all the ideas will be appreciate. Note: It is important to say that developers and users both are in the same intra-net and also in the same network domain. vb6 runtime-error share|improve this question edited Feb 11 '11 at 4:14 MPelletier 10.2k106296 asked Dec 9 '10 at 23:11 ArBR 2,81511321 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted If you don't want to debug it, you could watch it with a tool like Process Monitor and just see the last accessed file system object. It most likely tries to access or do something the user account doesn't have or where there are insufficient rights. Its almost impossible to get the exact reason just from the error message (as the error number is more generic and will popup for different ressources or file
