I mean you would still connect to the local server, but through the network interface. If you have installed it locally on the source then you can connect to 127.0.0.1. If you have installed Converter in local mode (default) then you would need to run the installer again, select the Modify option and add the Remote connection feature. If this doesn't help you can try to install the Converter Server on another machine and point it to the physical source. the issue. I am logged in as local administrator, tried running the converter as administrator user, tried switching from local machine to remote and specifying the loopback address. Checked the disk for errors, nothing meaningful in the event logs. Eventually looked at https://communities.vmware.com/thread/512921?start=0&tstart=0 the requirements of 6.1 converter and noticed that Windows 2003 does not appear to feature. I have tried in vain to locate a copy of converter 5.0.1 since it appears to be the last version to support 2003 SE but none of the links on vmWare site appear to work. HELP! Expand one of the two "Version History" headers lower down on the page. As an aside, I recommend running chkdsk on the source server you're trying to convert. If there are disk errors it often will cause the conversion to fail. 0 Sonora OP Batsran Feb 1, 2016 at 4:10 UTC Ok, i will give it a try... (looks like I can get this version) Now wondering if this is a network firewall issue. Found an local windows 2003 server and 6.1 appears to get further... awaiting to see if it completes clean. I have only opened ports 443 & 902 TCP to the vCenter server, and it then points to the internal ESXi host. Starting to wonder if the d
