Maytag Washer Flashing H F
Forum Posts Private Message Patient Join Date Feb 2013 Posts 2 Code HF on Whirlpool Duet Washer Model Number: GHW9150PW Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1-5 years Whirlpool Duet GHW9150PW washing machine gets an HF code and stops. As background, it quit working a couple of weeks ago and I discovered that the reservoir in the pump was full, and I mean full. It had a comb, a key, several paper clips, a pair of whirlpool duet pressure switch (disintegrated) reading glasses, several bolts and screws, and 65 cents in change, among the identifiable stuff. I realize now how easy it is to clean that out and will do it regularly in the future. It washed a few times after that and then began stopping and displaying the HF code, which I understand is from low water flow. I've run it through the diagnostics several times and everything checked out. As further information, I checked the water lines and they get good water flow. The screen for the hot water line was very full of sediment and I cleaned it out. Ran it through the diagnostics again with no problems and it worked a number of cycles again without a problem. Then the HF code again. I checked the hose going to the pressure switch because I read someplace that that could be a problem and its in good shape. I'm thinking that the pressure switch could be the problem but before I buy it I'd like to get an opinion if that is likely or if it is something else. I could call a repairman but I'd rather not since I can do anything they could once I figure out what it is. * Reply With Quote 02-02-2013,10:15 PM #2 Mkorns View Profile V

The pressure switch and associated tubing should also be checked, as the control is looking for a particular water level to begin washing. If the drain hose is too far down the pipe, siphoning can occur and the unit may not be filling correctly. Tech sheet should be under the lower panel. « Last Edit: October 06, 2008, 06:23:12 AM by Repair-man » Logged "It's only expensive if someone else fixes it for you"- The Virtual Repairman www.repair2000.com RegUS_PatOff Technician Member Since: Dec 2007 Posts: 1410 Country: Re: Whirlpool Duet error message HF? « Reply #2 on: October 06, 2008, 06:00:28 AM » or check the Duet Error Codes, one thread up...http://appliancejunk.com/forums/index.php?topic=1785.0 Logged After leaving this Earth, "Do you want the smoking or non-smoking section?" gtrdave VIP Member Member Since: Apr 2011 Posts: 5 Re: Whirlpool Duet error message HF? « Reply #3 on: April 22, 2011, 11:22:00 AM » Hope this helps someone else. Model Number: GHW9250ML1 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 1-5 years I have a Duet HT about 5 years old. Recently it started flashing the FH error code when it was part way/most of the way h f error through the normal cycle. The tub is half filled with water so I'm thinking it's probably not an indicator that the water flow has a problem. Last night I was able to get a quick wash cycle to run through but this morning I tried the same cycle and got the HF error code again. It also leaks a little from the front but I'm thinking this may be because there is too much water in the tub (the gasket/bellows seem to be intact with no damage). Are there any other things I can check (washer balance, pumps, hoses, etc.) that might be causing these issues? Also is there a mechanism that tells the washer to shut off when there is too much water in the tub? Thanks...
