Stay with me here! There are three blue wires that go to the MCU from the CCU. Most of the problems probably occur during the final spin when the machine spins fastest and longest to extract all of the water. Hence, the most vibrations cause the connectors to shake until there is a break in communication! Take the top of the machine off (three #20 torx screws on the top back) to gain access into the machine. The CCU is top center back and has the spaghetti of wire going to it. You will see white wires on the far right of the CCU. Then going left they turn to black. The black set (3 wires) left of the row of white wires if for the Door Lock/Unlock. It IS a problem for the F/DL error. It is not making a good connection. Next the blue wire on the LHS of the CCU, last set (back) there are three blue wires. In the process, I unhooked all the cameras and everything else from the back of the unit to move it as well as address some wire management issues, aka it was agiant rat nest of wires. After hooking it whirlpool duet back up, making sure all connections were secure, I booted it back up. Now, after it does its thing, it eventually comes up to an error screen, the heading si 'Recorder' and the message is "MCU Serial Comm Error." the only option is 'OK' and after you click that, it powers down. I'm not overly familiar with this device, as I've only played with it a couple times to review footage of a couple incidents. Any ideas out there? I've looked through the manual and checked the manufacturers washer f6 e2 website, as well as googled for help and can't find anything on my own. Have all the cables been re-connected? If the unit is not under warranty and you feel comfortable you may want to open up the unit to make sure the hard drive and other hardware did not come loose. 0 Thai Pepper OP Helpful Post JCastano Jan 3, 2013 at 12:41 UTC Oh yeah I just remembered an issue I had. One time I had a DVR that somehow had the membrane for the buttons on the front disconnected on the motherboard. It also would shut itself down. Hope this helps. I decided to open it up and check connections, after powering it on on my workbench, the software came right up. So I thought, loose connection, problem solved. I took it back to the server room, hooked it up, same error. I hadn't put the cover back on yet, so I rechecked everything and disconnected the cameras, reboot, same error. After some thought on what changed from my workbench to the server room, I grabbed a new power cord and plugged it in di
