fix this without having to take it into the shop? *feeling horribly tech-illiterate* EDIT: Apparently I can't spell, either. EDIT #2: Thank you, okay for Mods to lock if necessary. EDIT #3: Doh! It's actually an Olympus digital camera... my old one was a Sony, and I got confused. I've tried everything, and all functions work fine except for that damn "Write Protect!". Any more suggestions? card to find "Card Error" displayed on the screen. I carefully checked with the seller of the card before purchase, that it was compatible with the camera. The card does not generate this message in another camera, and the card from the other camera does not generate this message when inserted into the Olympus. I have been https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/write-protect-error-on-olympus-digital-camera-how-to-fix.1270263/ advised that I should format the card whilst in the Olympus but when I attempt to do so, this process does not seem to work. With the card installed, I select Menu>Preliminary & basic shooting options>card setup>Format>Yes (This results in a message Caution erasing all)select Yes>results in 'busy'. but then this display lasts only a couple of seconds then reverts to the default Menu display. The above error message is https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3453409 once more displayed. Any suggestions please, simple terms preferred!! The camera seems very picky regarding cards. It would just not recognize the card. Then I tried another card in my Olympus and it worked fine. Then I tried and formatted the Transcend in my Pentax where it worked fine. Then I re-inserted the new card in my Olympus and it was now recognized and could be formated just fine.
