The issue is that some of the icons use xlink:href itself. I mean there is a simple file a.svg like this: and I use it in another file xml parsing error b.svg like this: The problem is that FireFox throws "XML Parsing Error: prefix not bound to a namespace" because of lack of xmlns:xlink attribute. As I can see there is only an option to define xlink parameter but not any of other namespaces like mentioned xmlns:xlink, `xmlns:xsl' or any others. I did some work around with other grunt task grunt-string-replace to add missing namespace but that would be nice to be able to declare that inside the task. lambert-velir commented Mar 18, 2015 Hi- Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm using gulp-svgstore, but running into the same problem. norin89 commented Mar 18, 2015 No. I still use my workaround using grunt-string-replace and adding required attribute. alvarobyrne commented May 7, 2015 Hi. Sure enough I have the same problem. @norin89 : could you please be a bit more explicit into what's the precise replacem

I created a figure in Inkscape and then tried to display the SVG file in a web page. Firefox kept giving me an error message, "XML Parsing Error: prefix not bound to a namespace." After moving the file around to different locations, changing path variables, etc., I searched the web for the error and found this entry -- Why does Mozilla show source code/gibberish instead of SVG? -- on this page: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/svg/faq.html. Based on the instructions there, I inserted this line of code xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink"into the svg element of the SVG file Inkscape had created. This fixed the problem, hence my question.Judging from the comments on the mozilla web page, every SVG file should have the xlink element. So, is there any good reason why Inkscape doesn't automatically include this in the svg element of ALL files created with Inkscape? If you don't get an answer here you might like to try the developers mailing list. But before you do, check and see if this has already been reported on the Inkscape Launchpad site. the Inkscape Guide • FAQs • Inkscape Mailing List • Report a bug or request a featurea Quick Guide to Inkscape • microUgly.deviantArt.com • microUgly.com Top sas Posts: 404 Joined: Sat Oct 06, 2007
