but recently had to shut down and move the server. Now ever since I moved the server I am getting a 403 Forbidden page. This is how we are setup... Our webserver is for internal use only, so we have DNS redirecting traffic to http://forum/ to http://www.dotproject.net/vbulletin/archive/index.php?t-7984.html the webpage. We have a forum setup on the root of the html directory and then there is a directory for dotproject/ Again we had everything setup and it WAS working, but when we moved the server it is now not working. The only thing I can think of is that maybe a service on the server did not start back up? I can't remember the original processes that were running when we start building the server but 403 forbidden did notice when we fired it back up the mysqld and httpd process did not start automatically. They are running now and we can go to http://forum/ and reach the forum site, but when i direct it to http://forum/dotproject/ it gives me the 403 forbidden page. Anyone have some tips to try out? Thanks. ajdonnison18-02-08, 07:38 AMThis is an Apache error and most likely because you haven't set the proper Allow directives, or that directory indexing is turned off 403 forbidden error and index.php is not set up as a valid DirectoryIndex file. You will need to review your Apache error logs and check the Apache manual. tim.davis20-02-08, 02:38 AMWell the way the html folder is structured is that all files and folders fall under the access group ang all folders and files are set to 775 permissions. This doesn't seem to be the problem as any in the company can access the website located in html/ root directory and the html/forum/ directory that hosts our forums. I tried going into the http.conf file and looking at what is setup in there but i'm not positive which section would need to be modified to allow indexing into the html/dotproject/ directory. I have also changed the .htaccess file in root of dotproject to allow all, but this didn't fix it. What in the http.conf file needs to be changed? Thanks MerlinYoda20-02-08, 07:04 AMHere's a few examples of why you would get a 403 error. This is the "default" directory permissions set in most apache configurations:
