I went through the whole setup guide and am trying to setup xlite to start testing. I ran the mysql query to get the password for the 701 extension, entered it into xlite, and am getting an error 403 bad auth message. I proceeded to try configuring my PAP2 and iphone softphone and they, too, won't register. I've even tried setting up other extensions (702, 703) and no luck there either and I am totally stumped... I am using a dell latitude D430 as my incredible pbx server, and a linksys wrt54g-tm with ddwrt firmware on my router. Incredible PBX is setup using gvoice and sipgate. (attached is my xlite log if that helps?) any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated! However, when I attempt to make a call through the BRIA app it just has one quick busy signal and a pop-up 403 error Forbidden (call failed). What http://forums.asterisk.org/viewtopic.php?t=9208 else do I need to do to get it to work? 1 The same question Follow This Topic Oldest Newest Popular Comments (12) 1 Mike Mc. ● 2 years ago Please see this KB article about the 403 error, and/or contact 403 forbidden your VoIP provider for assistance with your credentials. Reply URL 1 Mike Mc. ● 2 years ago Please keep your responses here, as this is your support post. If you get a 403 when calling, your VoIP provider is denying the call. You may need to enter Outbound Proxy or Auth Name information in the Account Advanced settings. They should be able to tell you precisely why they are denying the call. Reply URL 1 Jacob S. ● 2 years ago Thank you Mike sip 403 forbidden Mc. 2 more questions and that might be it for today. 1- Does the app need to be open (and on) at all times or if I don't have the app open and that phone number (business) rings then it will 'activate' the softphone and open automatically? Is there a setting? If I turn my phone off (overnite) then when I turn on the phone do I have to open the Bria app as well. 2- How do I set the caller ID in the app? Right now recipients are only seeing 'out of area' on my phone calls. Looking around, I cant find the setting to adjust caller ID. Also can the caller ID be the company name as well as the ph number? Thanks so much Reply URL 1 Mike Mc. ● 2 years ago 1.) The app does need to be running. It doesn't need to be in the foreground (you don't need to be staring at it all the time), but it does need to be in the background. "Run in Background" is a setting in the Preferences, but it's on by default. If you power off the phone, the app will need to be started when you power on. iOS will automatically restart it if the device shuts off due to a crash or dead battery, though. 2.) The "Display As" name field in the Account is the only place to set the Caller ID. If this is not displayed, your VoIP provider may be overriding this

Moderators: muppetmaster, Moderator, Support Post a reply 13 posts • Page 1 of 1 SIP not registered? by varelg » Fri Aug 25, 2006 11:51 pm Hi, I'm trying to call Asterisk server from an SJphone softphone and have followed steps outlined in a tutorial from asteriskguru.com (http://www.asteriskguru.com/tutorials/sjphone_softphone.html). However, upon softphone's startup, after a brief attempt to register, it shows a message on the display: -SIP not registered. Host address [IP address of the machine where softphone is installed] NAT/Firewall blocked I have turned off windows firewall (softphone's host is a WinXP Home machine) and the third-party firewall that is also installed is off. Asterisk is up and running on my Linux box with no error messages. When I dial Asterisk server, I get the message that the softphone is trying to register but that goes on and on, and call is never made... Details about the network: -Two machines in simple file sharing network directly connected via crossover. IP addresses statically set. One of the 2 machines acts as an Asterisk server (under CentOS 4.2) the other is just a Windows XP Home box. Both machines can ping themselves and each other succesfully. The "plan" is to dial Asterisk from the softphone on Win machine and from there use options in extensions.conf. The conf files: -sip.conf Code: Select all[mysjphone]
type=friend
context=tryoutvoip
host=[IP address of the Win machine where softphone is installed]
dtmfmode=inband
username=mysjphone
secret=blabla
