403 Forbidden Sharepoint Designer 2013
I had solved this nightmare by re-entering the values in my SSP properties set up, however accessing the Search Settings page error has reared it ugly head again. Now all solutions point to this method listed here http://www.routtlogics.com/blog/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=6 http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/f00651cd-e452-45b9-b19e-90e89c3c3ad4 http 403 forbidden sharepoint http://blogs.technet.com/sushrao/archive/2009/03/26/microsoft-office-sharepoint-server-2007-moss-403-forbidden-error-when-clicked-on-search-settings-page.aspx The above workaround(s) basically states that granting the local group WSS_WPG read and write permission to the Task folder in the Windows directory would solve the problem, however whenever I try to change to the permission attribute of this folder I get an access denied message, even when logged in as a Domain administrator, Enterprise and even the SharePoint Farm administrator. Please guys how do I get around this access denied issue. MESSAGE: Getting 403 forbidden error when we click on Search Settings page.
Sharepoint 2013 Http 403 Forbidden
RESOLUTION: Newly added an Index server to the farm and started the search services successfully. When we click the website declined to show this webpage http 403 sharepoint 2013 on the search settings page getting 403 forbidden error. Found that when we add the SSP credential account to Local admin of Index server we were able to crawl and open https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/6ef6ed5d-b574-48c3-9da7-1c982765255c/error-403-forbidden-on-sharepoint-search-settings-page?forum=sharepointadminlegacy the search settings page. Told me that don't want to add the SSP credential account to Local admin. Removed the user from the admin group and did the IISRESET. Checked the SSP search settings page got an 403 error. Already followed the KB 926959. Ran the Psconfig -cmd secureresources and checked the Search settings getting same error. Ran the Procmon on https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/balasm/2009/07/09/getting-403-forbidden-error-when-we-click-on-search-settings-page/ the Index box and reproduced the issue and checked the procmon didn't get to see any access denied error message. Checked the SearchAdmin.asmx file permission it was correct. Checked the permission level of Searchsspsettings.aspx page and it was correct. Followed the KB 934838 and added the SSP account into WSS_Admin_WPG. Added the Search service account into IIS_WPG & WSS_Admin_WPG and reset the IIS. Accessed the SSP Search settings page and we were able to open the Search settings page without any error. Since this is my first post, I'll let you know that you can expect to see all kinds of posts here, from very technical like this first one, to governance, to user experience and so on. I'm happy to hear from you, especially if you see any errors or better ways to do things than what I post here. As most SharePoint people know, learning SharePoint is an ongoing process. Great product, but very complex…anyway, here we go! We were installing SharePoint 2010 (SP1, CU June 11) Web Standard Edition for a public site. The environment was to have two WFE's with one of the servers also being the app server. We had created the environment in TEST, and had been developing the branding solution with no problems. When we created the production system, however, we immediately were presented with 403 forbidden whenever we tried to access the anonymous URL. When we attempted to access the authenticated site, we were unable to access the site collection at all, even using the installation Admin ID, which had a policy of Full Control set on it. We eventually would get a 401 error after hitting enter several times. After trying many different things to get around this, we decided that we would try deleting the web apps and recreate them. From previous experience, we had created the Web Apps by first creating them as Anonymous and then extending the web app to Claims based Authentication. The reason it was done this way rather than creating the site as a claims based Authentication and then extending to Anonymous is that we had tried this before with another client and found that it if it was done that way, we could not get Search to work. Search would not produce results no matter what we tried to do. Anyway, back to the 403 forbidden. We were able to recreate the Web Apps, and mysteriously, things worked this time! We did have a few things we had to work around. First, the Sun proxy server that was being used would not allow authentication on the Anonymous URL. We got around this by creating a Host entry in a client system that pointed directly to the server. We then were able to authenticate and turn Anonymous on at the site collection level. We also got into the authenticated site and were able to add Site Collection admins, and poke around a little. All seemed well! We went home for the weekend thinking our problems
