Sine I'm not professional in IT so I just copy-cat https://forums.cpanel.net/threads/403-error-on-website.246972/ what so. did before. I copied files in another folder (for my main website) to my own-created folder. I tried the website and it had 403 error: "Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request." Can so. tell me why this happened? Is there a problem with my code files (I use php) or with my own-created folder? Thanks a ton! #1 tama88, Dec 8, 2011 Infopro cPanel Sr. Product Evangelist Staff Member Joined: May 20, 2003 Messages: 14,213 Likes Received: 171 Trophy Points: 63 Location: Pennsylvania cPanel Access Level: Root Administrator Twitter: Follow @InfoprosNetwork This and your other question, are really better asked of your host. They can teach you many things about your account. Short of that: When you access your main domain.com via your browser you're actually visiting the public_html directory. When you create a sub.domain.com you do not create the directory itself, the system does it for you when you actually create a sub domain from within cPanel interface. cPanel > Domains section > Subdomains. With the sub domain created from there in c
4 years, 7 months ago I have the latest version of both WP and BP installed. Whenever a user attempts to post a reply they receive a 403 forbidden error message as follows: Forbidden

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Adding new topics works just https://www.howtoforge.com/community/threads/forbidden-error-403-unable-to-access-web-pages.43789/ fine, so the trouble is only regarding replies within a topic. Has anyone experienced this before? I have tested with standard theme and the same problem occurs. My one thought is that I 403 forbidden switched to sitewide forums at one point, and then switched back to group forums. I believe that this may have been what caused the problem. If I uninstall group forums and then reinstall will that delete all of the current forum posts? I am very much hoping to avoid having that happen. I appreciate any advice or suggestions on what I can try! Also, I do 403 forbidden error not see any errors being generated through the error log in my cpanel, so it doesn't appear to be any kind of web hosting issue. Forbidden You don't have permission to access /directory of forum topic/ on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. I've spent hours trying to figure out what this is. I looked at WP Bullet Proof Security as a possible problem within the .htaccess file as well as another suggested solution by wpmu saying that I should go into the database and delete the forum ID number for each post. That's just crazy. I don't currently use a database editor, nor are the suggested WP Bullet Proof Security fixes suggested appropriate as they suggest that I go into the .htaccess file andOn rebuilding an ubuntu "perfect server" 9.10 (Karmic) (ISPConfig-3) mail and web server, after a hdd failure, I'm encountering difficulties serving my web pages. The browser reports either 403 Forbidden errors, or 403 Forbidden and/or 404 Document not Found. The server error log reports: [crit] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] (13)Permission denied: /var/www/mydomain.com/web/.htaccess pcfg_openfile: unable to check htaccess file, ensure it is readable Prior to this error, I was opening pages ok, right up until I used ISPConfig to create a sub-domain with a redirect path instruction. After that, nothing would open at all: http://mydomain.com , http://www.mydomain.com, http://mydomain.com/path-to-subdom-index.html , etc. All of them get 403's now, whereas before using ISPConfig sub-domain tool, those would open content. It's baffling, because the prior server also used ISPConfig 3 and ubuntu 9.10, and I don't recall encountering these problems. Any help deeply appreciated...
