Article ID: 112884, created on Nov 25, 2011, last review on Aug 12, 2014 Applies to: Plesk for Linux/Unix Symptoms When you try to access your website, you receive the plesk preview 403 forbidden "403 Forbidden" error. You see the following in the Apache error_log: pcfg_openfile: unable to check htaccess file, ensure it is readable. Resolution 1. Check http://kb.sp.parallels.com/en/800. 2. If the KB article above does not help, then you will need to understand exactly where the incorrect permissions for the Apache user are set: su - apache -s /bin/bash
