530 User Cannot Log In Iis7
Post Out OF the Blue on FTP server 530 User cannot log in, home directory inaccessible. Nov 14, 2011 09:11 AM|DSF767|LINK All, I had setup an FTP server to push out a configuration file for our WYSE thin clients about 4 months ago it is used everyday without a hitch. All of a sudden today I got a call from 530 user cannot log in windows 7 a user about not being able to connect to the FTP server. I went to investigate and for some reason the WYSE ftp credentials were not taking. Went back to my PC and tried to connect to the server via Core FTP and got FTP server 530 User cannot log in, home directory inaccessible. I went onto the server itself and checked everything and the server looked fine. all servers and everything running. I restarted all FTP services and that did not change anything. Then I installed Core FTP on the server itself and connected via 127.0.0.1 and it connected right to the FTP server with no issue. Now this server does not have a firewall or anything like that I was thinking of trying to bounce the box but I can not do that just yet so I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas. [7.5 FTP Server 2008 R2] Dec 12, 2009 03:49 PM|Instinct64|LINK This is the first time I have ever setup IIS, I have been extremely impressed on how easy it is to get going on the whole, however I have hit one problem I have gone to the furthest lengths to fix myself and I just cant work it out! http://forums.iis.net/t/1163399.aspx?530+User+cannot+log+in+home+directory+inaccessible+7+5+FTP+Server+2008+R2+ The FTP service, despite following good guides on this website, refuses to work for me! No matter what I do with permissions (even allowing Anonymous Login) I get this error: "Response: 530 User cannot log in, home directory inaccessible." Process Monitor Output: http://img121.imageshack.us/img121/8315/ftpissue.jpg I am just trying to get Basic Authentication working with Windows Users. I cannot make sense as to why there is no error. (Using IIS from within Windows 2008, not from iis.net) Any troubleshooting assistance is most appreciated! [7.5 FTP Server 2008 R2] Dec 13, 2009 01:54 AM|qbernard|LINK That will be IIS 6, are you using any ftp user isolation feature? The best way to trace this is still via filemon or procmon, this will shows where IIS is sending the user to. Don't filter the procmon first, i think you can look at where IIS is sending the user to. But I get the above error when I try to login to this site. But I can login to my other FTP sites. Also, when I select this website from IIS Manager, the FTP section does not display in the middle section although it does display in Action panel. And I cannot successfully login to this FTP site either. I have 530 user cannot checked and I have Log on locally selected. I do not have allow only anonymous connections. I have Access this computer from the network selected. I restarted my IIS and FTP services also. The one different thing I noticed about this website in IIS different from the other site that has FTP working is that this one there are 3 virtual directories beneath the site. And that when I click on any one of these 3, then the FTP strip does appear in the center pane. Make sense? How can I debug cause of this error? Any SW tools I can use? iis-7 ftp windows-server share|improve this question edited Jul 28 '10 at 22:15 asked Jul 28 '10 at 17:54 salvationishere 1,3361674128 did you ever get this resolved? –D3vtr0n Apr 8 '11 at 16:35 1 I dug around the interwebs quite a while trying to figure this out. Low and behold IIS allows me to add an IIS user as an FTP user. NOPE. You have to add a windows domain user and then specify that user in your FTP Authorization rules... So add a user test then in the textbox for allow rule you use the radio button for windows user then type test. –The Muffin Man Apr 23 '14 at 6:42 add a comment| 9 Answ
