I had a server that went down yesterday evening. I https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/23006262/MSFTPSVC-System-Event-Error.html don't see anything in the application or any of the other event logs. But the above started yesterday and continued for several hours and occured every couple seconds. Is this from someone trying to log into our FTP site? Could this cause the server to crash? Any ideas on how I can keep this from happening? 0 Question by:kserritt Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 38 Best Solution byChiefIT OK: now you have two users that have failed logons and they are both coming from the mail server. One was vipafw, the other was the administrator. Someone failed to logon too many times and FTP service shut down. On your FTP machine, you should see security event, in event viewer, related to this failure to logon. 0 Message Author Comment by:kserritt2007-12-06 There are only a few failure audits under the security event while there are several hundred warnings under system event. Monitor an unlimited number of servers with $49/year With the current low prices for servers and the need for processing power, even a small company may end up with quite a few of them. If ten years http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=10 ago it was still common to see an entire company using just one server, these days that's no longer the case. New computers are added to the network with the understanding that they will be taken http://stackoverflow.com/questions/33988223/windows-10-cannot-start-windows-process-activation-service care of by the admins. Keeping an eye on these servers is a tedious, time-consuming process. Most of the Win 10 system works fine. Some study tells me that the primary problem is that the Windows Process Activation Service (WAS) will not start. I have another machine that upgraded to Win 10 with IIS fine (Win 7 Home Premium x64 up to Win 10 Home Premium x64) The IIS on that machine works ok (it only serves one website; so simpler setup.) I have had NO LUCK finding anything on the internet that resolves this. I tried using the clean.iinstall IIS config files (no improvement). I tried uninstalling IIS - uninstall failed and rolled back. (see below) I tried uninstalling WAS - uninstall failed, and rolled back.
