Symantec Ghost Internal Error 8027
Reg: 28-Jul-2011 Posts: 21 Solutions: 0 Kudos: 0 Kudos0 Norton Ghost 2003 Internal Error 36000 on Boot Up Posted: 07-Apr-2013 | 2:54AM • 4 Replies • Permalink Hello As the ttle states I'm getting the above error when I boot up using the Ghost 2003 bootable CD. The motherboard is an Asus P4S8X with an onboard Promise Raid Controller 376. I never had any trouble using Norton Ghost with this motherboard before when having a SATA drive connected to the PDC. But now when I have a drive connected to this controller I get the above error. Booting without the SATA drive and just the IDE drives work. The error message says exactly "An internal inconsistency has been detected" If this problem persists contact Symantec Technical Support at http://service.symantec.com" and the ttle of the message is "Internal Error 36000". Can anyone tell me how to save the error file to a usb flash drive or onto one of the IDE drives that are also connected to the motherboard ? I cannot save it to the A: floppy drive for some reason. Any body has any idea? how to overcome this situation? Back to top Report #2 LittleBlackDuck LittleBlackDuck Member Members 13 posts LocationSydney, Australia Posted 25 December 2014 - 11:20 PM A quick google found other people with similar problems when using Norton Ghost/Symantec Backup. The solution (they found) was to runfdisk /mbr from a Windows http://www.minilabhelp.com/topic/23410-kodak-kiosk-g4-recovery/ 98 Startup Disk... as it was the Master Boot Record on the HDD that was somehow corrupted. Given your current situation, running fdisk /mbr couldn't hurt as all that will do is place a new and working boot record on the HDD. Hope that helps.
