On my computer it works just fine, but on my colleague's computer, she gets "error 170" when she tries to access her account. Mail can't be sent or received - the inbox shows up as empty. Here are the details:The account login and password are correct, because she can connect to webmail. The DNS entry for the exchange server resolves to an IP address which is accessible, and she can ping it just fine. We tried putting the IP address in the account config, and that doesn't work either. She's using OS X 10.5.8, and entourage 12.2.0 - same as me. the account settings are identical to my entourage, which is working fine. I've also checked the non-proxy hosts in the network settings and they are also identical. Can anybody help? macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.8), entourage 12.2.0 Posted on Sep 2, 2009 3:17 AM I have this question too Close Q: Entourage error 170 All replies Helpful answers by DaddyPaycheck, DaddyPaycheck Sep 2, 2009 4:07 AM in response to mdarwin Level 6 (16,037 points) Sep 2, 2009 4:07 AM in response to mdarwin Is the colleague in the same physical location as yourself? How are you both connected to your network(s), wired or wireless? I kind of discounted the network possibility when I pinged the exchange server and it worked... We just got the new an unknown Office 2004 here at work. Entourage seems to be either taking forever or not connecting at all to our Exchange server. The old version of Entourage X connected to the server fine (even though the exchange support sucked). When I first start Entourage 2004, it says it will be synchronizing in an unknown error the background and it could take awhile. This was 45 minutes ago. There is no progress bar, no network activity or hard drive activity. By my exchange account in the folder list, it says (not connected). I don't know what's going on at all. When I check the account settings, it's all fine... same as the previous version. Our IT even checked it to make sure. The old version still works fine too, although you can't run the new version and the old version at the same time. By the way, when you go to Microsoft's website, there is no support information for the new Entourage. If anyone could shed some light on what's going on with my new Entourage, I would appreciate it. · actions · 2004-May-21 6:44 pm · g4jedi g4jedi Member 2004-May-21 7:33 pm Anyone?Entourage 2004 has been sitting here for over an hour now...
