The guy on the phone at Verizon told me I had to do a factory reset. I just dealt with the problem while away cause I didn't want to risk my Droid X (GB 4.5.596) not working after a factory reset - while I was on vacation. When I got back to NY the problem disappeared (cause I'm back in my "home area"?), then 2-3 days ago it resurfaced & I was not able to send email. It finally got to me & I started looking for a solution - WITHOUT having to call VZW. So an hour ago I found this at droidforum.com >> I downloaded the newest Android version, 4.5.596. I deleted the AOL account with the error message THEN pulled http://androidforums.com/threads/new-android-version-aol-authentication-error.361780/ the battery and then readded the AOL account. Now the account is functioning normally again. Lane likes this.
