C Windows System32 Cmd Exe Keeps Popping Up
PRJ0002 : Error result 1 returned from 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe'. It only comes up with a C++ program. VB seems to be fine. I was working on a "Class Library" when it first started so I tried creating a new project. I tried doing a build before doing anything and the error message still came up. Then I tried creating a brand new "Windows Form Application" and running it without any modifications - same error. I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling Visual Studio 2005 - same problem. What do I need to do to get rid of this problem?Build Log Rebuild started: Project: Test3, Configuration: Debug|Win32 Command Lines Creating temporary file "c:\Documents and Settings\Stephen M. I hope I am clear enough and thank you by advance for your help. c++ visual-studio-2008 dll share|improve this question asked Jul 12 '10 at 19:49 ccote 6111 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted seems this NetGen lib's project wants to run a post-build event in which it tries to copy the main output (the nglib.dll) to the directory NETGENDIR (which is supposed to be an environment variable). This fails beccuse the dll isn't found. Either disable the post build event, or check with the NetGen lib's creator what they expect here, there seems to be a mismatch between the project's output dir and the postbuild event. Would also be nice to see the postbuild event from the vcproj file

Looking at c windows system32 the history, I see the following which looks to be the issue: Task Scheduler successfully completed task "\Random" , instance "{c19041aa-939d-4876-a12d-456fc3e632ce}" , action "C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\cmd.exe" with return code 1. What does return code 1 mean for cmd.exe? How can I get more verbose debugging information? My task worked at first, but then it stopped after a couple days. command-line task-scheduler share|improve this question asked Nov 29 '12 at 23:58 WilliamKF 3,2122774118 Does the batch file work if you run it manually? –Karan Nov 30 '12 at 0:48 1 Try setting the starting folder to see if it works. –Luiz Angelo Nov 30 '12 at 1:40 Yes, batch file works correctly when run manually. –WilliamKF Nov 30 '12 at 12:10 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote accepted http://www.blogfodder.co.uk/2012/4/20/win-2008-task-scheduler-with-return-code-1-0x1 Instead of putting the full file path in the program/script textbox, use the Start in (Optional) field to put the folder that the .bat file is actually in. Once you have done this, make sure you tick the 'Run with highest privileges'
