I was having problem running CMAKE with VC 2008. For some reason it was trying to spawn cmd.exe and I had to include C:\windows\system32. –Unknown Apr 11 '09 at 3:12 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote accepted This page helped me to solve the problem http://www.interact-sw.co.uk/iangblog/2005/09/12/cmdspawnerror share|improve this answer answered Dec 12 '08 at 15:21 yesraaj 16.6k41154229 add a comment| Not the answer you're looking for? If that doesn't work reset. Other wise it is a problem with VS - its trying to run your code output in a command prompt but cant open it. 12-21-2008 #3 hung555 View Profile View Forum Posts Registered User Join Date Dec 2008 Posts 10 still a problem still the same problem... in reset do u mean restart the computer? 12-21-2008 #4 zigga15 View Profile View Forum Posts Registered User Join Date Dec 2008 Posts 9 yes reset. if that doesnt work post your code (in code tags) then at least we can verify if it is a windows error, or a developer error :P ~ Dan 12-21-2008 #5 hung555 View Profile View Forum Posts Registered User Join Date Dec 2008 Posts 10 here u go Code: #include for Help Receive Real-Time Help Create a Freelance Project Hire for a Full Time Job Ways to Get Help Ask a Question Ask for Help Receive Real-Time Help Create a Freelance Project Hire for a Full Time Job Ways to Get Help Expand Search Submit Close Search Login Join Today Products BackProducts Gigs Live Careers Vendor Services Groups Website Testing Store Headlines Experts Exchange > Questions > Project : error PRJ0003 : Error spawning 'cmd.exe' Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 C++ .net Want to Advertise Here? Solved Project : error PRJ0003 : Error spawning 'cmd.exe' Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 C++ .net Posted on 2006-08-30 Visual C++.NET 1 Verified Solution 2 Comments 17,443 Views Last Modified: 2011-08-18 I'm still getting this error when I build my C++ program in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 - Project : error PRJ0003 : Error spawning 'cmd.exe' I have taken the steps in "Error spawning 'comd.exe' from VS 2005 pro C++" solution but it isn't working for me. I am able to solve it temporarily by changing the Embedded manifest to "no". This works if I do it for each project. I did the steps: Goto Start --> Programs --> Microsoft Visual Studio .. -> Tools --> Visual Studio Command Prompt Type "path > C:\path.txt" at the command prompt, and then "exit" Goto Start --> Run and type "cmd.exe" Type "path < C:\path.txt", and then "exit" Then I did this: open C:\path.txt in notepad Copy everything. Press Winkey (That exists between Ctrl and Alt) + Pause Goto Advanced, Environment Variables Select PATH and click Edit put the copied text, click OK. Do the same for the other list box too. This is what I pasted into the Environmental Variables - User variables for PATH: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\BIN;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\Tools;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\C
