If so, could you narrow down the error condition to the smallest possible number of variants? comment:2 Changed 3 years ago by egall@… Cc egall@… added Cc Me! comment:3 Changed 3 years ago by ryandesign@… Owner changed from macports-tickets@… to mmoll@… Cc mmoll@… removed Summary changed from upgrade or install of arpack fails during configure to arpack: configure: error: Cannot find BLAS libraries There is no +arpack variant in the arpack port... I think he meant: are you using +atlas or +accelerate? One of the two is probably required; those are the two available BLAS implementations. comment:4 Changed 3 years ago by dstrubbe@… You are using +accelerate (the default). If you want to use ATLAS, do +atlas. At any rate, this is a duplicate of the third issue reported at #39476, namely cannot configure with Accelerate on OSX 10.6. comment:5 Changed 3 years ago by mmoll@… Status changed from new to closed Resolution set to duplicate Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets. Configure Error Cannot Find Openssl's Libraries Centos 6
Updated: 2012-12-17 Anonymous - 2011-04-26 Dear ITPP developers and users, I was trying to compile and install ITPP locally on a computation server where I do not have a root account, so I used the tutorial found here: http://itpp.sourceforge.net/current/installation.html#localinst I downloaded exactly the same versions of itpp and itpp-external (4.0.0 and 3.0.0 respectively) and https://trac.macports.org/ticket/39489 followed the same procedure of the tutorial. I firstly successfully compiled and installed itpp-external, I exported LDFLAGS and CPPFLAGS but then when I tryed to configure itpp with ./configure --disable-shared --enable-static --enable-debug --prefix=$HOME/it++4.0.0 I got the following error: configure: error: cannot find any BLAS library, which is required by LAPACK. You can override this error by using "--without-blas" option, but the functionality of the IT++ library will be https://sourceforge.net/p/itpp/discussion/115656/thread/80f0c28c/ limited. You have been warned! I tryed all possibilities: adding "--with-blas=/path/to/blas", adding "--with- blas=-lblas" but nothing changes. If I remove lapack using "--withouth-lapack" I get the same error with FFT library. Can someone please help me? Tell me if you need more information Thanks in advance Michele If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link: Stephan Ludwig - 2011-05-03 Hi Michele, I do not know if I can help you (I am just a user and cristeab is profund in library issues - but currently off?), but we need to know, what BLAS/LAPACK/FFT libraries (MKL, ATLAS, etc.) you use on which operating system. And why do you want/need to use static linking? As far as I remember from my first trials, shared libs are much easier to compile/handle. Regards Stephan If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link: Bogdan Cristea - 2011-05-03 Hi Try to use the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH in order to specify the path to blas library. I don't remember the exact steps when installing IT++ without being root, but I'll try an installation this week-end. re

When I run ./configure, I got this error message: configure: error: You are required to have BLAS and LAPACK libraries Does configure error cannot anyone know Where do I obtain these libraries from? c ubuntu octave autotools configure share|improve this question asked Jan 22 '12 at 13:16 Homunculus Reticulli 10.2k39112190 webappl.blogspot.com/2010/07/installing-lapack-on-ubuntu.html? –miku Jan 22 '12 at 13:21 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 11 down vote accepted Try to run this apt-get install libblas-dev libatlas-dev liblapack-dev All libraries, required by octave package in ubuntu are listed here: http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/octave3.2 and to build new octave you need -dev packages of some listed libs. The octave in ubuntu configured in rather maximal way - many optional parts of octave are turned on, and this leads to big list of libraries required. To get most development (-dev) packages required by octave you can run: apt-get install octave3.2-headers which installs -dev-like package http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/octave3.2-headers of octave itself. This package depends on minimal -dev set and they will be installed after this command. share|improve this answer edited Jan 22 '12 at 13:28 answered Jan 22 '12 at 13:22 osgx 41.8k23163309 Thanks. All I needed was to install octave3.2-headers (and tex), and I got the build/install to w
