Before I go ripping it apart, anyone got a suggestion for this? I can't load, unload, change, or play CD's. Audiophile 6-CD Problem Quote Postby Oscar Meier » Wed Jul 18, 2007 12:45 pm I have a 2005 Five Hundred with the Audiophile http://www.ranger-forums.com/audio-video-tech-41/cd-error-cd6-totally-non-functional-%5Bfixed-%5D-25471/ 6-CD / am/fm radio system. When I try to switch to the CD it says "CD ERROR" and if I try to eject the CD it says "NO CD" My son had trouble loading the CD and it's said "CD ERROR" ever since. Does anyone know how to get the CD to eject or is a trip to the dealer? I had a similar issue - but they would not replace unless they can confirm the failure condition - hence by showing them the current state, you should have no issue - or even if they don't replace , at least the document it in the event it happens again. Quote Postby revlis » Thu Dec 28, 2006 3:32 pm After spending quite some time converting a portion of cd error my CD collection into mp3's for use on a (very near) future mp3 player, I decided to burn a (mp3) CD with some albums on it to use in the 500. I didn't even realize that I already had all 6 slots full, so I took one out, and loaded in the new disc. Everything was great... played fine... no skipping or anything like that... displayed the ford five hundred id tags properly. Got home that night... decided to take out the other 5 discs in the unit... disc 2, disc 3, disc 4, disc 5 all ejected fine. Pressed the eject button and hit 6 and heard it moved to the slot and I thought I noticed a few extra clicks and taps and such... finally it spat out the disc. But that's when it all goes wrong... I start hearing more clicks from it... then, the display reads initializing, and I'm thinking, oh great! Sure enough... after a couple seconds of that, it then reads cd error, and since then, can't use the cd player - and my new(ly burned) cd is still in there. The next morning, I walk to the car, unlock the doors using the remote, and as I open the door I hear this horrific sound of clicking... I thought there was some animal or something under the car. As I almost started to cry and run away... it stopped. Then I realized, it was the cd player. So not only has it eaten one of my cds, it won't allow me to insert any new one, or eject what's it there, it now makes
