A FIX?Just got a new car, a 2001 Mondeo, with the 6006E Radio Cd changer. Tried to load CD's and got the usual E4 message. So i looked on this site and found a soloution. 1. Remove the radio using the keys (got mine from dealer for free). 2. Remove all the cables. 3. Unscrew the top 2 screws. These are an odd sized star shaped screw head and i had to buy a screw driver from halfords, a Professional Screwdriver 60mm x T8 star. (£3.49). 4. Remove top cover. 5. Replace cables (dont put cover on) 6. Load a Disc. 7. Press Eject. 8. Disc will half eject itself and the arm with the laser led will remain visible. 9. Use a cotton bud and some regular camera or spactacle lens cleaner and gently clean the lens. 10. Reload the disc. 11. It shpuld now play. 12. Replace cover. 13. Push the Player back into the slot. I did this and it worked 1st time. This is much cheaper than goinf to Ford, who will charge you £200 to look at it and repair, however if the repairs are less than £200 they will give you the difference.
