As a result, I've had to troubleshoot quite a few problems. I'll go over some of the common problems I've seen, explain why they occur, and show you how to fix them. Related: Windows Server 2012 R2 Failover Clustering Common Problem 1 When the Cluster Service starts, it detects the networks on a node, then identifies the network cards in each network. A common problem that I've encountered is that people are unaware that Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC) allows only one network card on a node in the same network. All other cards in that network will be ignored. For example, suppose an administrator, Bill, configured a node with two cards in the same network: Card1 IP Address: 10.10.10.1 Subnet Mask: 255.0.0.0 Card2 IP Address: 10.10.10.2 Subnet Mask: 255.0.0.0 The Cluster Network Driver (Netft.sys) will use only one network card (or team) per network. For starters, we have ms-ds-machineaccountquota set to 0 for security reasons. See this article if you do not know what I refer to... http://www.msresource.net/knowledge_base/articles/info:_how_does_ms-ds-machineaccountquota_work.html Details of my problem. I can create computer accounts in any OU as domain admin or as a Helpdesk-type kerberos status access (defined by a GPO). Anyways, when bringing online this cluster, it is trying to create a computer object account called sharepointDTC, We have the DNS entry setup to this static IP and given the CNO full control. Oh yea, the cluster is called pspsdb My question is this (I think) - how to I give the CNO (Cluster Name Object) the ability to create computer accounts in the domain.local/computers OU.... My event logs are below and one of our many cluster.log files Event ID: 1205 Source: Microsoft-Windows-Failover-Clustering Info: The Cluster service failed to bring clustered service or application 'SharePointDtc' completely online or offline. August 19, 2012 Categories: Hyper-V, Windows Server 2012 I ran into a problem in a test setup where a newly created Hyper-V Replica Broker wasnt able to start Cluster network name resource ‘BROKER' failed to create its associated computer object in domain ‘internal.systemcenterdemo.dk' during: Resource online. The text for the associated error code is: A constraint violation occurred. Please work with your domain administrator to ensure that: - The cluster identity ‘HVC01$' has Create Computer Objects permissions. By default all computer objects are created in the same container as the cluster identity ‘HVC01$'. - The quota for computer objects has not been reached. - If there is an existing computer object, verify the Cluster Identity ‘HVC01$' has ‘Full Control' permission to that computer object using the Active Directory Users and Computers tool. I recently moved the Hyper-V Servers to a new OU opening th ecluster opbject i added Create Computer Object And after adding the permissions everything is working. So if you ever have to move the Hyper-V hosts to another container remember to update the security on the Cluster NamedObject Related Posts:Create mutiple VM from powershell in Hyper-V 2016 and…Create mutiple VM from powershell in Hyper-V 2016 and…‘VMNAME' could not initialize.
