The SAN has been restored, but I can't get the service to start on either server. On one server I get the following error: Cluster service suffered an unexpected fatal error at line 1386 of source module d:\nt\base\cluster\service\dm\dminit.c. The error code was 2. On the other https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc940012.aspx server i get the following: Processing media-specific event for [1386!ws!] Does anyone know a fix for this? These are production systems that have been down for 2 days now. G14TS Wednesday, July 31, 2013 5:43 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote I have got the problem resolved. The LUNS that the cluster was using had bad hardware. For some https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/c920febe-30a0-47d0-ae72-2de47e080fb2/cant-start-cluster-service?forum=winserverClustering reason I couldn't assign the new LUNS I was given the old disk signature. I had to create a new cluster and restore the data from a backup. Thanks for your help!G14TS Marked as answer by MedicalSMicrosoft contingent staff, Moderator Friday, August 09, 2013 2:19 AM Monday, August 05, 2013 9:01 PM Reply | Quote All replies 0 Sign in to vote If you are having a production outage, then the best approach here is to open a case with Microsoft Support, because a dedicated engineer will assist you. Nevertheless error 2 stands for "The system cannot find the file specified.", when trying to initialize the cluster database. Have a look at the below link: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/14232.cluster-service-not-starting-in-windows-server-2003.aspx Did you try to start the cluster service in normal mode or with the /fq switch? Referrence: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/258078/en-us Wednesday, July 31, 2013 6:40 PM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Tried the steps in the link with no success. I looked at the cluster log and it says it trying to repair but never successfully completes. I'm going to try a manual uninstall and if that doesn't work I
