Gepubliceerd op 25 dec. 2014Please see - https://www.edshvac.com This video covers common problems with the 31 fault code on this furnace. These furnaces were manufactured between about 1994 and 2010. We did not discuss that the pressure switch itself could possibly be bad. Not likely on this furnace. Vent sizing and length as well as proper pitch should always be verified in the installation manual. Vent termination outside the house is always a factor. Follow the installation instructions. We woke up to find the thermostat reporting an ambient temperature of 59 degrees, when we'd set the thing for 61. bryant plus 80 error code 31 The heat gradually caught up, so we didn't think anything about it until two

days later, the same thing happened: the thermostat was definitely set for a higher temperature than the room actually was. The thermostat

was calling for heat (you could hear the thing click a little as it switched on), but the furnace wasn't firing up. It would come on eventually, but sometimes it would turn off before the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQs2OPj4k08 interior temperature reached the setting on the thermostat. The air blowing out of the registers wasn't particularly hot, either. Since the forecast was calling for brutal subzero temperatures over the weekend, I figured I'd give the professionals a call. We have some experience working with a pretty good local HVAC guy, but we hadn't called him in nearly two years. Since he always seemed to be busy, I figured it https://unexpectedvictorian.wordpress.com/2014/04/10/diy-furnace-repair-pressure-switch-problem/ wouldn't hurt to try someone new. I asked around for recommendations, and ended up with some nice guys out of Spearfish. Our Carrier model 58MCA furnace. Note the condensation pipe and pump in the lower right. These will be important later… They came the next day and I showed them the furnace - a Carrier model 58MCA - which seemed to be working perfectly, of course. Up to this point, my furnace troubleshooting experience was almost nil. I've replaced filters, and I've cleaned flame sensors, but that was it. They showed me where to find a small diagnostic LED the would display error codes (it wasn't flashing anything at the time, naturally), and they pulled out the flame sensor and gave it a good polish. They said they couldn't see anything obviously wrong, but asked me to keep an eye on that error code and give them a ring if it gave me more trouble. The next day temperatures started to dip, and the furnace started playing games again. It wasn't warming the house to the right temperature, and the air coming out of the vents was pretty cool. This time I pulled the cover off the furnace and gave the diagnostic light a look. Three short blinks, one long

Can I get full model number of the error code 31 furnace? The 31 code is a pressure switch code and jumping the pressure switch won't help. This could manifest itself as a vent problem. Other than that, it could be:- Low inducer voltage (115VAC) - Defective inducer motor (the small motor in front)- Defective Blower motor or capacitor - Restricted vent- Defective pressure switch - Excessive wind- Inadequate combustion air supply- Disconnected or obstructed pressure tubingThere is a component test built into this furnace that might help diagnose the problem. If you're handy, it is a simple procedure (if not, get someone who is!).There may be instructions for this on the furnace cover, but the basic procedure is:1. Shut OFF the room thermostat or disconnect the "R" thermostat lead. 2. Briefly short the TEST terminal to the "Com 24V" terminal. Status LED will flash code and then turn ON the inducer motor. The inducer motor will run for the entire component test. The hot surface ignitor, blower motor-heat speed, and blower motor-cool speed will be turned ON for 10-15 seconds each. Gas Valve and Humidifier will not be turned on.You should be able to see/hear each component work (or not!) Ask Your Own HVAC Questio

Recently the unit started having issues where it would turn on (the blower motor would start, the inducer motor would kick on, and the igniter would light the burners), run for a minute or two, then turn off for 30 seconds, then run through the start-up process again. This cycle would repeat a total of three times before the unit would stop running unless I switched the power off on the furnace itself; I also found that typically on the third run of this cycle, only the blower motor would be going, not the rest of the combustion process. After "power cycling" the furnace, it'll go through the same three cycle process outline, and then fail again until the power is switched off. It's been rather warm here in Colorado recently, but we're hitting one of the snowiest parts of the year, and the issue seemed to arise on the coldest day in months this past weekend. We typically keep the thermostat set between 64-66 degrees, and the furnace never seemed to run long enough to bring the house up to temperature, as it only got up to about 60. While initially troubleshooting, I realized that I hadn't changed the filter in a couple of months, so I replaced it and cleaned the flame sensor, thinking that would resolve the issue. After connecting and re-seating the sensor, the unit fired up, but went through the same three-peat cycle it had done before. This time I realized that the unit was giving a '31' error code from the LED on the control board, and after looking in my owner's manual and doing a bit of research online, found out that it's in relation to the pressure switch opening too soon after combustion. Digging through some information here on DIY Chatroom and a few other online sites, it was suggested that 99% of the time, it's typically not the actual pressure switch itself, but is something with the air intake/exhaust vents in the unit.
