(Quick introduction) My name is Adrian device manager error code 31 I've been a computer nerd for as long as i know and i don't plan on changing. Im A+ certified and currently error code 31 a device attached to the system is not functioning working on my Network +. So i got my self into a interesting situation. To me it is still unclear why this happened. It could be since i was installing and uninstalling some nvidia beta drivers that

has cause this but i can't find a way to reverse its affect. A couple of days ago my computer was unable to connect to the internet. I immediately started the trouble shooting process and found that every device under the networking section had a Yellow triangle. They all claimed to have Code 31 error. "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device." ff I have yet error code 31 windows 8 to find the cause or solution to this. I have tried: Reinstalling all the drivers (Which failed) removing all registry entries on the drivers replacing the driver files from another pc Uninstalling all software from the pc (expect Mcafee) Uninstalling as much hardware as possible from the pc I ran a virus scan with Mcafee and Malwarbytes I then uninstalled Mcafee and malware bytes I removed the devices and tested them on another computer. They all work as they should. I tried uninstalling the devices from safe mode. They wont uninstall either And after 15+ hours of looking at logs swapping drivers uninstalling programs and devices in pure rage i deleted the systems 32 folder and let windows start up repair fix it. This still didnt fix my problem. System restore was never a option since it was disabled and there is no back up of this installation either. To make it worse the key for the computer has been lost (White box PC) and any attempts of recovering the key comes up ad BBBBB-BBBBB-BBB Etc Etc. Im desperate im out of ideas. I cant rule out a virus but i highly doubt its one. I cant rule out driver conflicts. The only thing im certain is that it is not a hardware issue. Wednesday, October 06, 2010 7:44 PM Rep

a driver incompatibility where windows could not load the drivers. It doesn't matter, if it was working fine before and not now because something on the system has definitely been updated. Many of us do realize then when the device stops working, such as your Wi-Fi all of a sudden. And, you're left wondering which path to take. So i'll list down the steps here, that will help you get the device running. In my guide, i will take an example of a Wi-Fi adapter where the driver had been incorrectly updated, and the guy didn't knew which wireless adapter he had. So, to find out which wireless adapter you have is to check the Device ID. 1. Go to Device Manager and Click on Network Adapters. 2. Right Click your wireless network adapter, it should be showing a yellow exclamation mark, if it's not then the driver is working properly. PRO TIP: If the issue is with your computer or a laptop/notebook you should try using the Reimage Plus Software which can scan the repositories and replace corrupt and missing files. This works in most cases, where the issue is originated due to a system corruption. You can download Reimage Plus by Clicking Here Now the one with the yellow mark is our wifi adapter, which is not working properly. So right click on it and select Properties, go to the Details tab, Choose Hardware ID's from the Property box and copy / write down the Hardware ID at the bottom. Now the last one is PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4727&CC_0280, which will help us identify the correct adapter. A quick google search will do. Once you've found out the correct adapter model, download it and install it. If like me your issue is also with the wifi then you can temporarily hook up to ethernet to download the correct drivers. PRO TIP: If the issue is with your computer or a laptop/notebook you should try using the Reimage Plus Software which can scan the repositories and replace corrupt and missing files.
