If so, can the "authors"print to PDF vice the plotter to could not parse paper?Or - when scanned, can the scanner used support size reduction to a smaller page size?I believe that higher end production equipment supports this; but, that's no help if you don'thave it, eh?For the existing PDFs -If you have no need for Acrobat 3.0 (PDF version 1.2) compatibility you couldplay with Advanced > PDF Optimizer and save the PDFs to a newer PDF versionusing Acrobat 8 Professional. I've not yet had the opportunity to try this on PDFsabove 45x45. It may be that 45x45 is the upper bound for the OCR engine Acrobat uses. You could try printing the files through Distiller again.Doing this to a PDF holding a scanned image often inflates the file size.Be sure the PDF(s) produced are above 72 dpi (else OCR via Acrobat won't process the content). Not really an optimal solution; but, "any port in a storm"...Doing this you tweek the settings to go to a smaller page size and try using"fit" of "shrink" to size. Then OCR.Tried the last on a 22x17 PDF from CAD. Some raster, some renderable text.Had Distiller print it as an image at 400 ppi (avoids the lower bound of 72 ppi)Went to 17x11 and used "Shrink to Printable Area
