Maybe a firewall / web-based ADSL admin thing / spyware?. I haven't done this in windows for a while, but you should be able to see whats listening on various ports by open up a command prompt and typing: Code: netstat -a -o You can also set apache to listen on another port (8080 is usually chosen here), by changing the port setting in your httpd.conf file. --Simon Retired Moderator. » Addslashes? I fact, it's because we're all using SKYPE, that listens to port 80 that we can't access this port number anymore. Go into your SKYPE options, and disable the port 80 is the other port doesn't work.

I think it means something else on my machine is using port https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=34479 80. 1) How do I find out what else is using port 80? 2) I found something about a conflict with Apache & IIS (Internet Information Service) webserver but don't know anything about IIS . > How do I check to see if I have that on my PC? > If it's on my PC how do I could not disable it? 2) Is there another port I can use for Apache? If so, > What other ports are available? > Do I only have to change the port number in the 'Servername=' parameter in the Configuration file? I'd appreciate assistance on this so I can proceed with learning PHP. Thanks! LAbrego brego from LA Posts: 2856 3+ Months Ago Hi, Chuck, Welcome to Ozzu.
