have now updated my dynamic action sample application, the links in this post no longer work. Please see this blog post for details. As many of you may know, APEX http://anthonyrayner.blogspot.com/2010/01/apex-40-learn-more-about-dynamic.html 4.0 Early Adopter's was released before Christmas. In this release, we introduce a new feature called 'Dynamic Actions' that provides a declarative way of defining client-side behaviour, without needing to know JavaScript. There is a http://warp11.nl/2011/12/import-apex-application-at-command-line/ simple wizard to create new dynamic actions, whereby you just specify 'When' the dynamic action will fire, the 'Action' itself and 'What' will be affected. As I said, you don't have to know JavaScript could not to do a fair amount with this feature, but there are also some hooks for JavaScript developers to extend the dynamic action framework to do a whole load more!! To help you understand this feature, I have put together a sample application containing lots of different uses of dynamic actions such as drag and drop, styling page items and interactive reports, retrieving data from the server via AJAX, responding to could not determine plug-in item events such as the 'Slider' sliding and more. You can either view the application running on the EA instance here or download it from here, so you can install it in your own EA workspace and have a deeper look. If you haven't yet signed up for the APEX 4.0 Early Adopters, take a look at David Peake's related blog post where he explains how to get started. Note: If you are installing this application, there is one supporting object defined containing a simple PL/SQL function 'getCommission' used by a couple of the examples. During the install, please install this supporting object to get the full functionality. Also, the application requires that you have a copy of the standard 'EMP' table in the parsing schema for the application. The application makes use of a number of native dynamic actions (that will be built-in to APEX), but also contains 5 dynamic action plug-in examples which you can look at, install and play around with. The plug-ins are: Draggable - Define page elements as draggable, with various options such as restricting by vertical or horizontal axis, transparency during drag, containment and more. Droppable - Define page elements as droppable, with various options such as restricting whi

After a little bit of searching I found the way to do the import on the command-line. It is documented in the Apex documentation, but as you know I'd like this blog to be an "OPI" (one point of information) 🙂 Please have a look at the script, alter it whenever appropriate. declare -- the name of the workspace in wich to import t_workspace varchar2(30):= 'MERIDA'; -- an application number of an existing application in the workspace. t_existing_app number := 100; -- the "new" application number, an existing number will be dropped first. t_new_app number := 100; -- security group id, you don't have to set this variable t_secgrp_id number; begin -- get the Security Group ID select workspace_id into t_secgrp_id from apex_applications where application_id = t_existing_app; -- Set the Security Group ID wwv_flow_api.set_security_group_id(p_security_group_id => t_secgrp_id); -- Set the Application ID to use apex_application_install.set_application_id(t_new_app); -- This procedure generates the offset value used during application import. -- The offset value is used to ensure that the metadata for the Application -- Express application definition does not collide with other metadata on -- the instance. For a new application installation, it is usually sufficient -- to call this procedure to have Application Express generate this offset -- value for you. apex_application_install.generate_offset; -- Set the parsing schema apex_application_install.set_schema( t_workspace ); -- Set the application alias apex_application_install.set_application_alias( 'F' || t_new_app ); end; / -- Do the actual import @D:ProjectsStaplesMeridaexportsmerida-srv022-20111222-1157.sql; commit; That's all folks 🙂 Like this:Like Loading...
