You may set the output path of you build in another folder outside your project, and when, for example, the project runs and searches for DLLs in the bin folder, it doesn't find them. –user1897631 Dec 12 '12 at 11:26 If that's because you change the default output directory, you can use this way:stackoverflow.com/a/26237022/1900498 –qakmak Oct 7 '14 at 13:23 y'all aren't going to believe this but this project in our solution wasn't selected in the Solution Configuration Manager to be built so there was no DLL being created in /bin ! Just make sure your project in question is selected to build in the Configuration Manager....

If not please create the same and compile the project. It will work for sure. –Shailesh Jul 27 '12 at 6:00 3 Yes I do have GodsCreationTaxidermy.Core.MvcApplication (Global.asax.cs) –PsychoCoder Jul 27 '12 at 6:05 The Global.asax file that seems to be used (according to the screen shot) looks different than the one you have shown. –Darin Dimitrov Jul 27 '12 at 6:11 check to see if the Inherits string is the same as the path to the class in your application (namespace + pathname), that is they are both GodsCreationTaxidermy.Core.MvcApplication –linkerro Jul 27 '12 at 6:17 That's one of the issues Darin, no matter what I do it always leaves the Core part out –PsychoCoder Jul 27 '12 at 16:30 | show 3 more comments 22 Answers 22 active oldest votes up vote 101 down vote accepted Your local web server is running different code than what you're actually working on. Ensure you have stopped debugging, stop your local web server, clean and rebuild as Peter suggested, double-check your global.asax and global.asax.cs, and try again. If this doesn't work and you are using local IIS, try removing the site in IIS Manager and recreating it manually. share|improve this answer edited

Syntaxe error in the @Application directive in global.asax P: n/a WT Hello, Using VS2005, when I open the global.asax file, the editor underlines in blue all the line with a tooltip saying 'Syntaxe error '. <%@ Application Language="C#" Inherits="MyApp.Core.Global" Codefile="Global.asax.cs" %> But everything is running OK, the site is under a web application project. Any indication on the reasonfor this welcome. CS Jan 24 '07 #1 Post Reply Share this Question 4 Replies P: n/a Juan T. Llibre re: the site is under a web application project Using Web Application Projects doesn't change the way the VS 2005 IDE sees the code. WAP uses a new codebehind model, with changes in it which the VS IDE can't see. re: <%@ Application Language="C#" Inherits="MyApp.Core.Global" Codefile="Global.asax.cs" %> That's standard syntax for ASP.NET 2.0/VS 2005 codebehind. In WAP projects, that becomes : <%@ Application Language="C#" Inherits="YourWebProjectName._Default" Codebehind="Global.asax.cs" %> ....but, to the VS 2005 IDE, that's incorrect syntax. See : http://webproject.scottgu.com/Default.aspx for details on the inner workings of WAP. Juan T.
