It seems like it is related to ASP.NET caching some assembly dynamically, but not recompiling it for some reason. Thoughts? How do you fix this? What causes it? Ajax from my Default.aspx page. The Default.aspx page loads fine. removed stack trace Final Update: So this is happening to me at least 5 times a day now. I have to shutdown the app pool. Go into C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files and deleted the files here Then restart the app pool. Anybody else run into something like this? Should I just break down and create a support case with Microsoft. asp.net share|improve this question edited Jan 2 '09 at 20:35 asked Dec 30 '08 at 19:20 BuddyJoe 22.5k78227415 Even more info: restarting IIS had no effect. What the heck. The WCF-via-AJAX calls had been working fine, then all of sudden this just started. –BuddyJoe Dec 30 '08 at 19:28 restart your browser and clear your cache...maybe your browser is caching a AJAX resource –craigmoliver Dec 30 '08 at 19:34 Does connecting to a server via FTP cause this to happen more often? Just happened to me again today. –BuddyJoe Dec 31 '08 at 21:14 I also get this with asp.net 4.0, although I am using the development web server at the moment. Creating a new project in a different folder fixes it for now! Can't find an answer to this anywhere. –C
MPP, images formats and many more! Fix for ASP.NET "Could not load file or assembly App_Web…" Error Posted by Brendan Tompkins on November 15, 2006 Every so often on our production web servers, we get the "Could could not load the assembly make sure that it is compiled before accessing the page. not load file or assembly App_Web…" error. There's a long thread over at ASP.NET about app_web dll error this issue, but I thought a simple post may help others running into this problem. I've found an quick and easy, albeit

not ideal fix for this problem. There's supposedly a hotfix for this, but there are reports that this won't actually fix the error. Until a good long term fix comes around, here's a quick way to fix http://stackoverflow.com/questions/401188/asp-net-error-could-not-load-file-or-assembly-app-web-z9w33txs this problem. Delete all temporary ASP.NET files, by removing the folders under the following directory: C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\ Your mileage may vary (win directory differences, etc) -Brendan About Brendan Tompkins Brendan runs CodeBetter.Com. Sorry, not really a solution as much as a crappy bandaid that will only work in certain situations. Alexis_tf this is not a correct fix for this problem, you better stay as a disco dancer full time. Jack I agree it is too late to delete the temp file after the problem alreay happen. Have you found a better solution? Simdrouin This solution works when there actually is a problem (which is, generally speaking, too late), however what if we are looking avoid this situation in the first place ? Is there some way we could force asp.net to not use the files in the temporary asp.net folder ? Afnan_70 Good One Really Worked For ME !!!!!!! http://s
to learn C# and ASP.NET 2.0, and I'm find myself running into a serious roadblock. Since I'm new to both C# https://www.sitepoint.com/community/t/parser-error-could-not-load-the-assembly-app-web-/2396 and .NET it's very hard for me to troubleshoot the problem, and even days of searching the net for a clue has proven fruitless. I'm working through some tutorials found on ASP.NET, but I am stuck at 'codebehind'. I can get any example to work locally (of course), but I'm finding that I can not get anything to work remotely on my new could not shared hosting plan.
