there any workarounds to get the Flex compiler to work with a 64bit JRE? If I use an MXMLC task in an Ant buildfile in Eclipse it works fine but if I try to use MXMLC from the command line (or try the Run... command from FDT in Eclipse) it fails, telling me ... "Error loading: C:\Program Files\Java\jrrt-1.6.0\jre\bin\jrockit\jvm.dll" (this is with a 64bit JRockit runtime but that shouldn't matter). jdk flash 64bit java mxmlc share|improve this question asked Jun 2 '10 at 5:47 BadmintonCat 3,13863159 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 77 down vote accepted There is currently no support for using the Flex compiler with the 64 bit JRE. Instead, have the compiler use a 32 bit JRE. To do so, you'll need to edit the jvm.config file located in FLEX_HOME\bin. Within jvm.config, set java.home to the location of a 32bit JRE. If you don't already have a 32bit JRE, download it. Example: java.home=C:/Program Files (x86)/Java/jre6 If you like this answer, please click the up arrow to the left. share|improve this answer edited Jun 28 '14 at 18:47 answered Jun 17 '10 at 19:27 Julian 3,70353659 6 Apparently the forward slashes are important; backslashes did not work on my Windows 7 machine. –Garret Wilson Jan 18 '12 at 16:22 3 And does not accept double quote. –BlueDolphin Mar 27 '12 at 21:00 I have the same problem, but not solved by a 32 bit JRE, I installed a 32 bit JRE(1.8.0_25) and set home but still same. My flex version is 4.0.1 –Lalith J. Dec 28 '14 at 9:17 1 This is simply not

Opened up my command prompt to C:/FlexSDK/bin. Ran a directory of the folder and my mxmlc.exe file was there. From http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3364623/flexsdk-to-compile-mxml-file the command prompt I issued mxmlc c:test.mxml and received a "could not find a JVM" error. This is surprising because I have compiled mxml files from the command prompt on my computer before. Also I have developed, compiled, and ran java programs before from the command prompt. I know I have a JRE on my system. As a matter of fact it is located at "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6". As I stated earlier I have compiled mxml files a while back. I dont understand what the problem might be now. lex share|improve this question edited Jul 16 '13 at 5:17 Yu Hao 84.1k18115177 asked Jul 29 '10 at 16:09 Jerry McLeod 69127 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 5 down vote From http://jonemerson.net/blog/?m=200607 and http://www.flashdevelop.org/community/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2842 It turns out that if you’re on Windows and you have JAVA_HOME defined using backslashes, it will not work. Instead you must set JAVA_HOME using forward slashes in your environment variables, or create a jvm.config file next to mxmlc.exe containing the line “java

I am getting the below error while compiling [echo] compc:java.home:S:\JavaSDK\jre [compc] Error: could not find a JVM. I have installed my Java in S drive. In the environment variables, I have set JAVA_HOME to S:\JavaSDK\bin In the bin folder of flex sdk, in jvm.config, I have set the java home to could not "S:\JavaSDK\jre". Even if I change this to "S:\JavaSDK\jre\bin", my build still echoes "[echo] compc:java.home:S:\JavaSDK\jre" and not "[echo] compc:java.home:S:\JavaSDK\jre\bin". I dont know what is happening, but ultimately I need to make FLex recognize my JVM and I am also confused, where flex is taking the java.home from. Is it only from jvm.config or elsewhere. It cant be referring to environment variables because it points to jdk bin directory as said earlier. Any help could not find is appreciated. The JRE is used when you want to run a Java program that has already been compiled. Since you want to do some code compilation, you should point to a Software Development Kit - you can get the Java SDK from Oracle: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html The Sun Certified Java Developer Exam with J2SE 5: paper version from Amazon, PDF from Apress, Online reference: Books 24x7 Personal blog Ram Korutla Ranch Hand Posts: 80 posted 4 years ago The actual issue is when compiling I am receiving unable to load jvm.dll, cannot find JVM. Then when I googled, there were suggestions to edit the jvm.config in flex bin. In that file, there are instructions to point to JRE directly, which is what I am trying to do here. But still, the issue persists. Nathan Askew Greenhorn Posts: 1 posted 4 years ago Ram Korutla wrote:The actual issue is when compiling I am receiving unable to load jvm.dll, cannot find JVM.
