Is there sufficient capacity/free space on your recording hard drive? 2. What is the record allocation set to (Preferences/operation)? http://www.myspace.com/philogg Phil Ogden View Public Profile Send a private message to Phil Ogden Find all posts by Phil Ogden #3 12-14-2008, 05:46 AM docbop Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 403 Re: "could not allocate space for recording!" Check your permissions on the drive. Also big app create lots of temp files for buffers and etc that chew up space so you need more drive space than just your data files. __________________ Steve B. ---------------------------------------------------------------- If you think you can or if you think you can't, you're right. docbop View Public Profile Send a private message to docbop Find all posts by docbop #4 12-14-2008, 11:26 AM OddsAre Member Join Date: May 2005 Location: Maine Posts: 1,027 Re: "could not allocate space for recording!" is your hard drive formatted to OSX Extended (Jounaled)? I've been https://www.gearslutz.com/board/music-computers/632008-pt-9-error-could-not-allocate-space-recording.html successfully using PT9 for the past 7 months and all of a sudden I can't create a new session and record with it. I get the same error message "Could not allocate space for Recording!" This is on a 2 TB drive with 890 GIG free! it makes no sense. I just wanted to record 2 tracks and I enabled the tracks to record, pressed play to listen to the click for a minute & the message popped up. I checked the disk allocation and it all looks good. the session drive is set to RR and the other drives TT. this happened on the second of a 3 song session today. I couldn't resolve it right then, so the client left. needless to say I am not a happy camper. And YES I did a search for this but the responses are not conclusive and from years ago. Any help will be sincerely appreciated. Share Quote 20th July 2011 #2 prologicmusic Gear Maniac My Recordings/Credits My Studio Try trashing preferences. Also check the workspace under Window when PT is open. I had an issue before where id create a session on one hard drive but all the audio files were being recorded on another back up hard drive that was full. Just make
