However, I figured out what unable to download anything the problem was! It seems that it wasn't actually affecting all attachments, just *.pdf files (I didn't realize it since I typically only get pdf attachments). The problem was that my default pdf reader was set to a plug-in that wasn't working. I changed it and all is fine. The vulnerability appears to have been through one of the vendor’s other clients, however it allowed attackers to access some information on other accounts. As a result, attackers were able to download a list of our forum users.
