Otherwise you'll get the message you have been getting, the same goes for selecting quicktime in the publish settings (don't ask me why?). Hope this helps. QuickTime can't handle any newer publish formats. I tried messing with the publish settings and found this tech note from adobe helpfull http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_18889 .Although flash said that it had not been able to export the movie, when i looked it was there. I'm using the files provided from a Macromedia Devnet tutorial page: http://www.macromedia.com/devnet/tip/001.html I've done everything the tutorial has specified: Flash Player 4 player settings, frame rate match to movie. However, upon publishing the file, I get the following error: "Could not complete operation because https://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?189591-Quicktime-Flash-Export-problems of an unknown error" There is very little documentation on what to do at this point. Anyone with any clues? Thanks. If you're on a Mac, I know that changing your Quicktime settings somehow helps. Open Quicktime Quicktime Player/Quicktime Preferences Advanced Check 'Enable Flash' You have to restart your computer, but sometimes it will allow Flash to export as video after you do this. I'm almost certain this command uses the clipboard temporarily. It first stores whatever is currently in the clipboard and then proceeds to cut and paste all the items into new layers, and, could not when it finishes, it restores the clipboard to whatever the value was before. I'm not sure if this is relevant to why it doesn't work in Parallels, but it's something. FYI, in all my years of using Flash, this function has never thrown this error. It is definitely specific to running Flash inside of Parallels. ultimante, Oct 21, 2008 #1 ultimante Messages: 22 I just confirmed that this error does not occur with VMWare. Your competitor's could not complete software does not have this problem... ultimante, Oct 21, 2008 #2 John@Parallels Messages: 6,450 I wonder, how you get this, you can check it on new VM, or increase video memory, and enable DirectXShaders John@Parallels, Oct 22, 2008 #3 ultimante Messages: 22 The video memory is actually set to maximum because I'm running it on a 24" widescreen monitor. ultimante, Oct 23, 2008 #4 ultimante Messages: 22 None of your suggestions fixed the issue. I coworker has a brand new install of Parallels and Windows XP, he installed Flash CS3 and has the same exact error. VMWare is able to recognize FlashDevelop as an application. VMWare doesn't have this bug with Flash. VMWare is looking more and more like the better solution. I've even heard from others that VMWare has faster performance, too. By contrast, all I've been hearing from the Parallels team is deflections of issue reports and unfulfilled promises of looking into these issues. You ask me to PM you, and then you never respond. Flash on OSX is not that great. A lot of Flash professionals who use Mac prefer to run Flash on Windows via emulation software. VMWare runs everything as expected, but Parallels has problems which it seems your team would rather ignore than fix. Looks like I made a mistake in choosing your software over VMWare. u
