Could Not Find Database .mdb File
.mdb file up vote 1 down vote favorite I'm trying to make a very simple application that connects to an Access 2003 database. I built a very simple user interface with 7 labels and 7 text-box with only 2 buttons: one of them is "Save" and the other one is "Exit". Inside my form I added the code : Imports System.Data Imports System.Data.OleDb Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal visual studio could not find file sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click 'Try Dim saveinto As New OleDb.OleDbCommand Dim constr As String = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.Oledb.4.0; Data Source=" & Application.StartupPath & "db.mdb" Dim conn As New OleDb.OleDbConnection(constr) saveinto.Connection = conn saveinto.CommandType = CommandType.Text saveinto.CommandText = " insert into users(id,username, nid, money, mode, help, yesorno) " & " values ('" & TextBox7.Text & "' ,'" & TextBox1.Text & "' , '" & TextBox2.Text & "','" & TextBox3.Text & "' , '" & TextBox4.Text & "' , '" & TextBox5.Text & "' , '" & TextBox6.Text & "')" conn.Open() saveinto.ExecuteNonQuery() conn.Close() MsgBox("All Done :P ") Exit Sub End Sub when i press the Save Button i got that error : A first chance exception of type 'System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException' occurred in System.Data.dll` and its the first time to see it, i thought that something wrong in my system (WinVista:) or database (build with my Access 2007 then converted to 2003) and i uninstall Access 2007 and install 2003 then rebuild new database and replace the old one with it. When i run my app and press the Save Button i got the same error Message with OledbException was unhandled Could not find file 'C:\Users\Mahmoud\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\Test\Test\bin\Debugdb.mdb. i searched here before asking my question for my problem but i c

only takes a minute: Sign up Access database error “Could not find file”? up vote 2 down vote favorite I have been using Access database as db of choice for a long time now and this is the first time http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21955064/could-not-find-file-bin-debugdb-mdb-when-trying-to-open-an-access-mdb-fil I have run into the following error message: Could not find file 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DevServer\10.0\dbo.mdb' First, I don't have a db called dbo.mdb. But running the program from the installed files from the online setup still gives me an error. My program contains 4 Access databases. They all are in the main program path with the other files, and all of them follow this pattern: con_name.ConnectionString = "PROVIDER=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source = name.mdb" change name with the database.mdb name and this is the full error details: System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: Could not find file 'C:\Documents and Settings\Local Settings\Apps\2.0\Data\5OBGY35Z.KQX\BA0L3897.GKJ\monk..tion_e4d7ac4b0efe78e1_0003.0000_40bef6809ef62922\Data\EquipmentWS.mdb'. at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnectionInternal..ctor(OleDbConnectionString constr, OleDbConnection connection) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnectionFactory.CreateConnection(DbConnectionOptions options, Object poolGroupProviderInfo, DbConnectionPool pool, DbConnection owningObject) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionFactory.CreateNonPooledConnection(DbConnect ion owningConnection, DbConnectionPoolGroup poolGroup) at S

I have also installed VS 2013 and used it for months without issue for both VB and C#. I have attached a screengrab that shows how Microsoft.VisualBasic is referenced. I have removed the reference and added it back (assuming that I could not add it back if it did not exist) and this does not change things. Has anyone built code with VS2015 and VB successfully? Can anyone suggest a fix? Thanks cyberh0me Superhuman 102,480 exp Reply #1 — Posted 1yr ago by cyberh0me | Superhuman | 102,480 exp Reply #1 — Posted 1yr ago by cyberh0me | Superhuman | 102,480 exp could be the case because netmf does not support 2015 and its working with c# as this was years ago the only supported language rockybooth Senior 2,950 exp Reply #2 — Posted 1yr ago by rockybooth | Senior | 2,950 exp Reply #2 — Posted 1yr ago by rockybooth | Senior | 2,950 exp @andre.m: I sure hope that is not the case as VB NETMF templates are clearly available in the VS Create new project listing!
