Now, I googled for this error and found it seems to have been a problem ongoing since VERY early versions of Photoshop. Apparently it is recommended to dlete and recreate the Windows swapfile, since the error is probably caused by a corrupted or damaged swapfile. Well I follow this advice and it fixes the problem, at least for a while. Then a little while later the problem comes back. Any idea why I am suffering the problem and how to fix it permanently? Mar 20, 2009 6:31 AM (in response to Nigel_Smith) Well how much RAM do you actually have to use with Photoshop ? Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 2. Re: Error Msg everytime I launch PS CS3 Nigel_Smith Mar 21, 2009 9:28 AM (in response to Nigel_Smith) Well, 4GB (3.5GB usable by Vista 32 bit); about 800MB in use by Windows when I open Photoshop without any file loaded. I think the corrupt swapfie is a red herring because I've had the error occur when the swapfile is actually disabled. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 3. JasonSmith@adobeforums.com Guest April 23rd,05:21 PM #3 Re: Error importing clipboard, claims low RAM According to the install CD: "Some applications, including the Finder, become very crash prone in the presence of large clipboards. Hence, Photoshop imposes a 4 megabyte limit on the size of any clipboard PICT it exports. Installing "Unlimited Clipboard Size" removes this limit thereby allowing the user to export larger PICT clipboards but also increasing the chances that other applications will crash because of the amount of data on the clipboard. To install the Unlimited Clipboard Size plug-in: 1) Make sure the Adobe Photoshop application is not currently running. 2) Copy the Unlimited Clipboard Size plug-in into the Adobe Photoshop Plug-Ins > Adobe Photoshop Only folder. 3) Launch Photoshop. The Unlimited Clipboard Size plug-in will be loaded." Berry_Banks@adobeforums.com Guest April 23rd,05:33 PM #4 Re: Error importing clipboard, claims low RAM Woohoo! Thank you sir! steven_vale.. » Wed, 26 Nov 2003 02:55:23 This is Photoshop 7.0 sorry for leaving this out Top Error Message "Could not import the clipboard because the specified format is not in the edition" by steven_vale.. » Wed, 26 Nov 2003 02:50:39 Does anyone have a fix to prevent Photoshop from displaying a dialog box reading "Could not import the clipboard because the specified format is not in the edition". I have seen this message since using OS X on up to version 10.2.6 In most cases this box will pop up when switching to photoshop from another application causing the other application to quit but I have also seen it pop up and stop the process of logging out or shut down. We have 15 plus macs in our company & it happens on all of them. Any knowledge on this issue would be appreciated.
