longer seeing ANYTHING in the network connections folder. The following is the error i receive only if you refresh the window. "The Network Connections folder was unable to retrieve the list of Network adapters on your machine. Please make sure that the network connections service is enabled and running on your machine." Before completing the steps below in the microsoft support website the network connections folder would "hang" or "think" for ages, and THEN show error 126 the specified module could not be found windows xp me nothing. The Network connections service is set to manual, Log on is set to local account and "let this service interact with desktop" is checked. The service isn't started but if i try and start it manually i get this error -> "Could not start the Network Connections service on local computer. Error 126: The Specified module could not be found." If i try and check the dependencies of the service i get this error -> (even though i know it relys on RPC) "Service Dependencies. Interface: Class Not Registered." said problem is apparently "fixed" by completing the steps outlined in -> (apparently i'm not allowed to put urls in here, so... i think the support is called "How to troubleshoot missing network connections icons in Windows Server 2003 and in Windows XP" and the article is "825826") i did these steps... Step 1. Done. my nic is working fine. 2. every service BUT Network Connections starts, as explained above. 3. 4. and 5. are verified. 6.c. regsvr32 netshell.dll regsvr32 netcfgx.dll regsvr32 netman.dll first 2 are reg'd but the third is NOT... detailing this error -> "RegSvr32 LoadLibrary ("netman.dll") failed - The Specified Module could not be found." 7. and 8. done without problems. 9. i double click on computers and the dcom thing closes mighty quick (wtf?!) so i cant do that
the important settings that are required to help load up a particular "service" on your PC. The services of Windows are used to help make sure that your computer is able to run the likes of your wireless connection system, network adapter and other important options. Fortunately, there is a very easy way to fix this problem for good, by using the steps outlined on this page. What Causes Windows Error 126? When https://forums.techguy.org/threads/network-connections-service-failed-to-start.349397/ you receive this error, a file related to the service is missing or cannot be found. This basically means that the service option will be unable to correctly process the files & settings that it needs to operate, causing Windows to run much slower and with a large number of problems. To make sure this http://www.personalcomputerfixes.com/general-errors/how-to-fix-error-126-the-specified-module-could-not-be-found-when-starting-a-service/ problem does not cause further issues, you have to be able to repair the service & the settings inside Windows that are causing it. How To Fix Windows Error 126 Step 1 - Make Sure The Registry Is Working Correctly The first step is to ensure that a specific "registry key" is functioning correctly. It's often the case that this particular setting will cause problems for your PC, and so you have to ensure that it's working as smoothly as possible: 1. Check the registry key: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\%ServiceName%\Parameters 2. Check the associated DLL file name value for ServiceDLL. 3. Physically check the location mentioned in the key ServiceDLL and make sure that the file is there. 4. If you do not find the file at the location mentioned in the key HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\%ServiceName%\Parameters\serviceDLL then copy the file from a working Server with the same OS and Service Pack Level. 5. Now try to start the service and the service should now start. Step 2

Network problem could not in XP! Started by spr168 , Dec 04 2006 11:08 AM Please log in to reply #1 spr168 Posted 04 December 2006 - 11:08 AM spr168 New Member Member 2 posts I am running WinXP SP1. My problem is i can connect to the net thru browser but progs such as WMP are not able to connect saying there is some network problem. So i checked Control Panel>Network Connections. To my surprise it is could not start not showing my DSL network connection thru USB. (its completely blank). Earlier it was fine and used to show the connection . After some research i came to the conclusion that it has got something to do with a service called "Network Connection Service" (C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs) Whenever i go to Control Panel>Administrative tools>services it shows this service is in STOP state. When i try to start it it says "Could not start the Network connection service on Local Computer" "Error 126 : The specified module could not be found" The file svchost.exe is present in the windows\system32 folder and another service called "Network Location Awareness (NLA)" which depends on svchost.exe is running fine. Due to this even though i can connect to net through browser other apps like WMP cant access the net saying there is some network problem. How to rectiify it? Does it require some tinkering with the registry? Thanks for any suggestion!! 0 Advertisements #2 Guest_rushin1nd_* Posted 04 December 2006 - 11:32 AM Guest_rushin1nd_* Guest http://www.snapfiles...nsockxpfix.htmlgive that a try please read the homepage before you try the download 0 #3 spr168 Posted 04 December 2006 - 12:05 PM spr168 New Member Topic Starter Member 2 posts Thanks for suggestion will give it a try!! 0 Back to Windows XP, 2000, 2003, NT · Next

Here's what I've done to troubleshoot the problem: 1. From Start>Run Services.msc....attempted to start the ICS service but got error, "Could not start the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) Service on local computer. Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start". 2. To figure out why...........from Start>Run Services.msc, I right clicked on ICS Service and clicked on the dependencies tab. Got, "Internal error - WBEM error features not available. Upgrade WMI to a newer build." 3. Couldn't figure out how to upgrade WMI so checked ICS dependencies on another computer and found that ICS depends on Network Connections service and WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation). 4. From Start>Run Services.msc, discovered that Network Connections is running but WMI is not. When I tried to start it, I got, "Error 126, the specified module could not be found". 5. I discovered that WMI depends on Event Log and Remote Procedure Call (RPC) but both of these are running. 6. I'm stumped on what to do next. Can anyone help? dcfrazel, #1 2007/08/04 Lifetime Subscription mailman Geek Member Joined: 2004/01/17 Messages: 1,899 Likes Received: 11 Trophy Points: 483 Computer Experience: Intermediate Tinkering Hi, dcfrazel.
