Could anyone help me to solve this problem. android android-emulator share|improve this question asked Dec 9 '14 at 11:40 justin 195215 add could not initialize opengles emulation use '-gpu off' to disable it a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 7 down vote accepted At last I got how to start the Android Emulator.I think the problem in windows is that the android emulator while executing points to the sdk\tools\ directory instead of sdk\tools\lib directory as said in Android-open project Issue Tracker. The things you have to do is: First copy all the files starting with lib and having the extension dll from the sdl\tools\lib directory into the sdk\tools\ directory. If you still can't get the emulator working after copying also place the -gpu off option in the command line while executing the command emulator-arm @AVD_name. After doing these two things the Android Emulator started for me. share|improve this answer answered Dec 9 '14 at 11:56 justin 195215 Moving the DLLs worked for me. Thanks ! -gpu off effectively just kills the error message by disabling GPU emulation, which presumably you're trying to get to work if you have that error message –Code Bling Feb 13 '15 at 18:24 add a comment| up vote 2 down vote There is a simpler solution: Use 'emulator' instead of 'emulator-arm'. 'emulator' is used to perform a few checks

I have downloaded java jdk and jre, the newest version of the Android Development Tools for linux x64, libstdc++6:i386 and lib32z1. When I now run my emulator from Eclipse, I get a black emulator window with android not loading. I have also tried to run the emulator on command line and this error is showing up: emulator: ERROR: Could not load OpenGLES emulation library: lib64OpenglRender.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory emulator: WARNING: Could not initialize OpenglES emulation, using software renderer. I had already switched it off but never tried to switch it on. Then I noticed that with the last install of Ubuntu I have always switched it on.... So when I run my emulator on commandline it is still the same error but in eclipse not! share|improve this answer answered Jan 26 '14 at 15:59 user2737037 1236 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up
