BMS Community-Driven Untitled project Black Mesa Source Issues Issues Issue #267 invalid Engine Error: "Could not load library client" Alan Forester created an issue 2012-11-30 The game worked perfectly and I'd completed about 85% of it, getting to the reactor core in Lambda Labs. Today when clicking the desktop short-cut I got a forced update, either issued by Valve to the SDK Base 2007 (although the last update to the SDK was issued on the Wed Oct 19th, 2011 according the official site) or maybe by the Black Mesa devs(?) - I wasn't paying attention, after that when I try to launch the game in Steam or via the short-cut, I get an alert titled "Engine Error" with text "Could not load library client". I've tried every 'fix' on the official BM forums but because whatever was in that update certainly killed BM, this is probably outside my ability to fix it. Mod worked before update. Mod is located in J:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\BMS J:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\BMS\Bin contains: client.dll 6,237kb server.dll 7,848kb game_shader_dx9.dll 326kb This error seems to be affecting many BM players, according to the 10 page thread on the official forums and also players of other mods including Gary's Mod, any passing guru's input would be extremely welcome. I include my mdmp file created after the last time I attempted to run the mod. hl2_4044_crash_2012_11_30T19_10_56C0.mdmp Comments (5) Igor wiwi This is sdk related problem, valve has broken sdk 2012-11-30T20:19:35+00:00 Johnathan Welsh Issue #268 was marked as a duplicate of this issue. 2012-11-30T22:48:33+00:00 Alan Forester reporter Hi Igor, yes apparently, "Source SDK Update 10/30/2012" has broken all the mods - Jesus wept. NOT a bug in Black Mesa. If I can't close this issue can a passing mod do it, please. 2012-12-01T00:55:58+00:00 Alan Forester reporter changed status to invalid NOT a bug with Black Mesa - Valve have just killed all the mods, brilliant! 2012-12-01T00:57:00+00:00 Johnathan Welsh Fixed now anyway. 2012-12-01T03:17:29+00:00 Log in to comment Assignee BMS Community-Driven Type bug Priority critical Status invalid Component Programming Version 1.0 Votes 0 Watchers 2 Blog Support Plans & pricing Documentation API Site status Version info Terms of service Privacy policy English Git 2.7.4.1.g5468f9e Mercurial 3.6.3 Django 1.7.11 Python 2.7.3 4729d131423b / 4729d131423b @ app-106 JIRA Software Confluence Bamboo SourceTree HipChat Atlassian Help Online help
