The error explains exactly what is going on - the assembly specified cannot be found, or one of its dependencies cannot be found. You might have an assembly of that name but wrong version. share|improve this answer answered May 20 '11 at 11:33 Oded♦ 341k54592785 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Po

Operation is not supported” error in Release mode up vote 39 down vote favorite 6 I have http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6071259/could-not-load-file-or-assembly-error a small project in C# that uses two external dll files. One is the Redmine.Net.Api.dll and the other is NLog.dll. I'm using Visual Studio 2010. I added both files as Reference to my project. The problem is that when I run the project in Debug mode, it compiles, but when I switch to Release, it says: Error 1 Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\project\lib\Redmine.Net.Api.dll' or one of its dependencies. Operation is not supported.
