Could Not Write Lines To File Obj Debug Temporarygeneratedfile
am getting the following error when i build my website. Error 13 Could not write lines to file "obj\Debug\BussinessLayer.csproj.FileListAbsolute.txt". Access to the path 'C:\ Team\ ToolKit\BussinessLayer\obj\Debug\BussinessLayer.csproj.FileListAbsolute.txt' is denied. BussinessLayer solution is binded to TFS server. I tried in disconnected mode also. I made the Read Only property of the obj Folder to false. It gives the same error. How to solve this error? Thanks Ashok Reply filelistabsolute.txt path too long Maxxxy Member 240 Points 67 Posts Re: Build error - Could not write lines to file "obj\Debug\BussinessLayer.csproj.FileListAbsolute... Mar 25, 2009 05:28 PM|Maxxxy|LINK The error you encounter is caused by a process of your application locking the debug files. Those are usually have nothing to do with TFS. To resolve the issue I would go to the folder and manually delete the obj folder and try to rebuild it. If you cannot delete the folder, close your VS and try again, if it still does not work, run iisreset and try, then if it still does not work, restart your machine and delete. As soon as you delete the folder your solution would build and obj folder will be re-created. hope it helps Maxxxy Everybody pities the weak; jealousy you have to earn Arnie Everyone has a plan until they get hit M. Jun 08, 2009 12:38 AM|Vavani|LINK Right click on "obj\Debug\BussinessLayer.csproj.FileListAbsolute.txt" file and change the property. It works for me. -VP ‹ Previous Thread|Next Thread › This site is managed for Microsoft by Neudesic, LLC. | © 2016

Somehow the project held onto the reference, but didn't show it in the IDE. –RaoulRubin Jul 31 '12 at 14:43 add a comment|

Must could not write of the it happens when starting multiple debug sessions from Visual Studio by switching platform iPhone or iPhoneSimulator between runs # Expected behavior All debug sessions should start without issues or requiring more cleaning # Actual behavior Sometimes the build step fails with the error message Could not write lines to file "obj\Debug\MyPclLibrary.vbproj.FileListAbsolute.txt". The process cannot access the file 'C:\Path\To\My\Solution\MyPclLibrary\obj\Debug\MyPclLibrary.vbproj.FileListAbsolute.txt' because it is being used by another process. We're investigating, but we have a pretty good idea where this is coming from, and will have a fix in place very soon. In the meantime, could you please try the following workaround? 1 - From an administrator command prompt, open C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\[4.0|12.0|14.0]\Microsoft.Common.Targets\ImportAfter\Xamarin.Common.targets 2 - Edit line #, and add the following attribute to the WriteLinesToFile element: ContinueOnError="WarnAndContinue" Let us know if it works, since that will most likely be the fix too. Thanks
