registry value that was left behind from Hewlett Packard (most likely from an OEM image). To resolve this problem open your registry (regedit.exe) and navigate to the following path. If you are on a 32-bit error 1606 windows 10 system: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall 64-bit system: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall Delete the InstallLocation value and reattempt the installation.
