Error 1606 Could Not Access Network Location Appdata
you all haven't already answered this question. I'd feel really stupid if you did because I couldn't find it anywhere. I have Windows Vista Home Premium. It came already installed. I love/hate it and Bill Gates too, although that last bit isn't really important. Anyway, I have downloaded the trial version of Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 and am having a devil of a error 1606 could not access network location public desktop time installing it. I followed the "UNIVERSAL VISTA HELP GUIDE FOR INSTALLS AND CONFIGURATION OF ACROBAT 8 " by Anthony Kraus, and while I did get farther with the installation, I am hung up with the following error: Error 1606 Could not access network location\Startup Well, neither could I. I can't even find it let alone access it! Where is it? What is it? This will eventually drive me crazy if I can't get past it. Is there anyone who can help me? thank you so much in advance....... Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement smiledesigner Thread Starter Joined: May 8, 2010 Messages: 4 When trying to install or uninstall programsI get: Error 1606 could not access network location %SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools\ Also I am not able to open the Administrative Tools icon in the Control Panel - it just clicks. A while back after running an anti-spy program, the next time I turned the computer on the desk top was changed, icons missing, etc. and the %SystemDrive% file folder icon was added to the desktop. I'm using XP, and ran the Microsoft "Fix it for me" for Error 1606, and a-squared free and malwarebytes anti-malware. Now when I tried to install Adobe Reader, I got either Error 1606 Could not locate network location %SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\Default User, or the one from above.
