Could Not Load File Or Assembly App_web
vote 13 down vote favorite 4 I've read through many of the other questions posted on the same issue, but I still do not understand the cause and how to prevent it from happening. In my case, this happens on the production server. I get the same error that has been described in other questions, and I resolve it by re-copying the assemblies into the bin directory. They app_web dll error are not even recompiled files, they are the same ones that were in there before - copied in again, and then it starts working without problems. The weird part of it is that I am using Web Deployment Projects to rename all of my assembly files into folder-based dll's. So folder.dll and folder.subfolder.dll instead of App_Web_jt8nxllz.dll. Yet the error still names the original App_Web_jt8nxllz.dll file. Deleting the contents of the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework[64]\v...\Temporary ASP.NET Files folder works and is all fine, but does anyone know how to prevent this error from happening? Also, shutting down IIS or restarting it is really not so feasible when it's happening on the production server. Perhaps cleaning out the Temp folder on a scheduler automatically? What is the real issue here? Is there something in particular that causes this to happen? The site will be humming along no problem at all, and then all of the sudden, one entire folder stops working and produces this error. Could not load file or assembly 'App_Web_jt8nxllz, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Reply kezo_corvus None 0 Points 1 Post Re: Could not load the assembly 'App_Web_***** Jul 13, 2006 05:27 AM|kezo_corvus|LINK It is disaster, I converted stable application on 2.0 and now I'm experiencing hate mails from users and 14000 exceptions in log (in one week) most of them starts with 'could not load the assembly'. But there are also some problems with custom cached components (Hashtables in cache) I never experienced with 1.1 Reply streelz None 0 Points 1 Post Re: Could not load the assembly 'App_Web_***** Aug 02, 2006 05:04 PM|streelz|LINK I was having this problem and found the following solution to work: 1. In IIS, click on web service extensions 2, Add a new web service extension (WSE) 3. Name the WSE "ASP.NET 2.0", or whatever you deem appropriate for your enterprise 4. Add X:\your .net install path\framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_isapi.dll -- Install path is c:\windows\microsoft.net by default 5. Click OK, and set the WSE to "Allowed" 6. (optional) create a new application pool for your application 7. Right click your application and go to properties 8. On the ASP.NET tab, change the asp.net version to 2.0 9. Navigate to your x:\.net install path\framework\v2.0.50727 folder 10. Grant write/modify access to the"Tem

The project is here: http://www.codeplex.com/IWebWF IWeb Security Release IWeb By Michael Washington on 9/6/2008 7:10 AM http://iweb.adefwebserver.com/Default.aspx?tabid=57&EntryID=35 A minor security issue has been discovered in all versions ofIWeb. A potential hacker could construct https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/sayanghosh/2007/03/07/solution-to-app_web_-dll-in-asp-net-2-0-website-web-deployment-projects/ a url that will allow access to the web service configuration page. This is only possible if a hackerhas been granted access tothe page that IWeb is on (for example you have the IWeb module available to your registered users or publicly available). All versions of IWeb have been updated. You can download the update from http://iweb.adefwebserver.com. IWeb reaches 1000 IWeb By Michael Washington on 8/17/2008 could not 5:45 AM Today IWeb reached 1000 members. This is not a big number because the DotNetNuke project can grow by 1000 members in a single day. However, IWeb is just a small project that provides code to call web service methods inside DotNetNuke. It is not really designed for end-users. When a project with such a small user base reaches 1000 members it says a lot about the health and growth of the main DotNetNuke project. This milestone sticks out for me personally could not load because IWeb started as a small idea. It has grown and taken a life of its own. Eventually it has grown bigger than me and taught me a lot about what Open Source is really about. Initially IWeb was just a code sample. Nearly two years ago, I needed to call a web service that was inside a DotNetNuke module. I found an article on wwwcoder.com. My example used the new (at the time) WSP dynamic compilation model so I decided to publish the code. After I published the code a l ... More... IWebCSharp IWeb By Michael Washington on 4/27/2008 5:10 AM Using IWeb is very simple. You install the IWeb module and then you start adding you own methods. You will automatically have security for your methodsthat can be administered from the configuration screen. The only problem is you have to write the methods in VB. We hoped to allow you to have VB and C# methods in IWebCF (the Windows Communication Foundation based version of IWeb that is also on it's way). So far we haven't figured out a way to do that. So, we decided to make a C# version of IWeb for those who want to write their methods in C#. The moduleis called IWebCSharp and can be installed side-by-side with IWeb (also IWebCF can also be installed side-by-side with the other versions of IWeb). Note: the entry point for IWebCsharp is different then the normal IWeb so you will have
7, 20070 0 0 0 In case of ASP .NET 2.0 Web Site project, the App_web_******.dll filenames keep changing between successive build! So there’s a redundancy while deploying the application on a remote machine, as the old App_Web_****.dll's won't be overridden and we need to include instructions to remove them manually. The Web deploymentProjects add-in for VS 2005 does just that, it gives the developer complete control over the assemblies that are emitted by the Web Site – http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/asp.net/aa336619.aspx VS 2005 team’s forum http://forums.asp.net/138/ShowForum.aspx Thanks to Scott http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2005/11/10/430283.aspx Tags App_Web_****.dll ASP.NET Website Web Deployment Project Comments (0) Cancel reply Name * Email * Website Follow UsPopular TagsIntegration Services ASP.NET Website SQL Server 2005 SSIS WPF Infopath Microsoft India SQL Server 2008 Microsoft Techmela Visual Studio Sharepoint T-SQL Web 2.0 Microsoft download RegEx Regular Expressions Infopath 2007 Windows Presentation Foundation Automation tools query Archives November 2008(1) October 2008(1) September 2008(2) May 2008(1) March 2008(1) February 2008(1) January 2008(2) December 2007(3) November 2007(4) October 2007(1) All of 2008(9) All of 2007(37) Privacy & Cookies Terms of Use Trademarks © 2016 Microsoft
