Submit Posted by Nathan Fast on 3/20/2014 at 2:31 PM Is there a workaround for this? This seems like a pretty serious problem. Posted by Willem-Derk Nijdam on https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/778961/precompile-error-when-using-x64-platform 1/27/2014 at 1:44 AM This problem still exists in VS2013 and running .net v4.5.1 Posted by Zefir on 1/27/2014 at 1:24 AM Why you cannot simply change path to 64 bit of compiler if x64 is compiled? Posted by Net Industries on 12/4/2013 at 12:11 PM Issue confirmed: still active in Visual Studio Express 2013 for Web. Posted by WayneBrantley on 10/7/2013 at 9:38 PM Why is this not being addressed? Was it addressed in VS2013? Posted by Jeremy2008 on 9/25/2013 at 1:44 PM I have this problem too. When I disable Precompile, I can Publish without problem. automatically assume that the references will be in the bin folder or GAC. This is a problem if you have an external reference or dependencies. I ran into the error below relating to references when building ASP.Net web application. One of the fix would be to copy the dependency files and copy them over to the bin folder. This is a manual process and can be done as below in your build scripts: Alternatively you can convert your web application to use web deployment project. The web deployment project is not supported in Visual Studio 2012. If you are using Visual Studio 2012 then this post here will give guidance to use WSP(Website Project).
